Moved from a 5th gen to a 6th gen...reading the manual & have two questions (2.0T)

Just went from a 2012 LS to a 2018 LT1.

I know that many features discussed in the manual don't apply to every model, but there are two things listed that I hope someone could clear up for me...

Is Competitive Driving Mode only available with the 2.0T LT1 with the 1LE package? I don't seem to be able to trigger it in Sport mode, so I imagine I don't have it. The manual just says "if equipped", referring to it as something that could be activated in Sport mode, not specifying that it is only available with the V6 or V8.

My other question is...since it is the Turbo 4, shouldn't it have Engine Sound Management options in the Infotainment menu for Driving Mode? I appear to only have the option to set a steering preference, or allowing it to be controlled by the Driving Mode selector. Would I be in need of a software update, or do I just have a package that doesn't include the artificial sound for the Turbo 4?

Thanks in advance!

Comp Mode is 1LE only. With the A8 you can trggier Performance Shift mode which doesn't do much to help a tuned 2.0T with M6 not sure if it let's you but you do have no lift shift if you practice it enough.

There is no sound management even with the bose system in the 2.0T i wouldn't want extra 4cyl engine noise in my cabin anyway lol.

Only the cars equipped with the NPP dual mode exhaust option get Engine Sound Management options in the infotainment system.

NPP is not available on the turbo 4.

I think you have yourself confused. You have a 2.0 M6 1LT not a LT1. LT1 designates you have the 6.2 V8.

welcome to the 2.0T club! It's a fine automobile, with many satisfied owners, including Randy Pobst
As was pointed out, you have a 1LT, not an LT1 (thanks GM).
In your vehicle, the only thing that changes between tour and sport mode, is the level of electric steering assistance.
There is no augmented engine sound, no dual mode exhaust, no competitive driving mode.
Same with my car. I love it. Simplicity is beautiful.

Evil bee, comp mode is available on all V8 (LT1) models, not just 1LE.

Scorpio, to see what you actually have, email socialmedia@gm.com with your VIN and ask for the build sheet. You will see every option and RPO code your car has.
If you’d like the original window sticker, go to monroneylabels.com and you can buy a reproduction of it for $7.99. Another good resource is the 2018 Camaro sales brochure. There’s a good grid that shows what options were available on which trim levels. This would tell you that Dual mode exhaust (NPP) was not available on any version of the 2.0T, for example.

Congrats on the new car!

I think he was just trying to be helpful. And in your post it should be "you're", not your. Sorry for being part of the grammar police.

First, thank you everyone for your replies, and your corrections that it is 1LT.

It stinks that there is no competition mode available, but I'm not even sure how much impact that would have on the 1LT performance. I likely wouldn't be using it much anyway.

As for the sound...Evil-Bee-NH is correct, I'm referring to the Engine Sound Management that pumps sound into the cabin from the Turbo 4, not the Engine Sound Management for the dual mode exhaust, even though they are called the same thing.

Quote:
Engine Sound Management (if equipped) Changes when variable exhaust valves open.
Engine Sound Management (turbo 4) Allows the ability to turn Engine Sound Enhancement off.
I didn't perceive it was on, or making sounds, but I wanted to see if it was active so I can turn it off, or just fiddle with it.

NJScorpio, here it is for your reference. (Pardon the image quality, the originals I uploaded are fine, but the forum engine resizes and blurs them.)
