Here is a response from Eaton on what they changed compared to the previous 3100.

I honestly don't expect them to discontinue the 2650 as it will suit 99%+ of people. To fully utilize the 2650 you already need to build the engine and fully build the fuel system with port injection. The only thing that has made me doubt that theory is looking at the pricing listed on Harrop's site. Granted, it's in AUS, there is less than a $1k difference between their 2650 and 3100 offerings for our car. If I was buying something, I certainly wouldn't get the lesser of the two for that small of a difference.
Maybe, but if you are just wanting to get rid of your Lt4 and are just staying pretty much stock the 2650 will still be the best route for a stock Lt1 or Lt4.

Was hoping it wouldn’t require an account being a public group. Doesn’t seem that they are sharing it to their Facebook.

They basically just said the original 3100 was an extension of the 2650 that didn’t meet expectations, while this is a 3 lobe high twist design, and it does perform to their expectations. It is for the aftermarket only.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing that.

Now, how long until Maggie releases it…? That’s the big question.

We are trying to get our hands on it ASAP. No telling on when it’ll be generally available, but being that major changes apparently aren’t needed to the 2650 housing designs, it shouldn’t be as long as other releases from them.

That was my thought too. If the main casting and heat exchangers are the same hopefully they can move it to market pretty quickly.

I was talking with someone about this blower yesterday (you might know his name) and he's still not convinced this will be a game changer, so we'll have to wait and see some numbers on the first guys/gals who get them.

And he definitely knows what he’s talking about!

If that rotor pack is designed for the crazy top 5% guys, then that’s fine. Advertise it as such and keep making the 2650 too for most everyone else. Looking forward to seeing ZL1Atlanta push the envelope with the 3100 though! I’ll probably give it a whirl too (assuming it’s out soon, otherwise it’s 2650 or 3.0 time) since I have no delusions about this car being a daily driver.

Magnuson told me months ago that the 2650 intercoolers and their tubs will work just fine, but there would have to be new 1" inlets/outlets for them, along with a new blower case, so some stuff could transfer over from a 2650 blower, but not all. BUT - that was from the old 3100-version.

It would be cool if they offered an upgrade package for existing 2650 customers. It'd also be interesting to learn how more power this blower takes to spin, versus a 2650, which is already known to take like 100-plus or something.

I think the issue will be cooling...I don't see it being the same level of upgrade as it was coming from the 2300 unless Magnuson releases it with bigger IC bricks.

If they put it in my hands like they said, I'll gladly run it on a proven combo with plenty of data on the track and on the dyno to share.

In my eyes, and I know I'm probably part of a small group that would feel this way, but I'll consider it worth the time even if it only picks up 100 RWHP. That is bolt on power versus having to swap the entire build to turbos, and is enough to shave off a tenth or two.
