No lift shifting doesn't change the way the car shifts, it just doesn't require you to lift off the gas. The car is essentially lifting off the gas for you.

It is no harsher than a normal high rpm shift.....you are still disengaging and engaging the clutch like you normally would. As such, the synchros operate the exact same. If you are worried about trans and synchro wear then don't rev up past 5k...

you are basically racing your car if you are doing no-lift shifting... hell yeah, it is hard on everything

I think part of my problem was I did it getting on the highway and shifted before the top of the rpm line.. so it went all the way up to 6,500 then I let the clutch out and it slammed pretty hard on the entire drive line. I think I just need to come to terms with, I'm going to break sh!t and then I will fix it. I may be babying the thing too much. Maybe it can handle more abuse than I give it credit for too.

Actually NLS is easier on the driveline than the traditional on/off/on throttle along with the clutch operation. When doing NLS the ECM cuts power and timing to lessen the strain on the driveline.

as far as im concerned my car does not have nls and if it does its broken lol.
I installed nls in my turbo vette and it was great. Worked exactly as expected. The camaro just pegs redline when i clutch in. There is nothing smooth about it.

I'm pretty sure your right. Unless there is another way to activate it. It should drop below redline upon clutch engagement. It sounds like everyone is using rev limit to shift and I won't be doing that.

I defintely had NLS on my 5th gen ZL1, it was smooth, but did not improve my times. On my CA6 SS this does not feel the same for me. I will lift a little.

wonder if this theory is applied to F/I vehicles. My assumption is yes, but you now have a different tune, and forced air...? anyone with boost wanna try it?

If you can't get it to work you aren't doing it right, simple as that. If it jerks and slams, you're dumping the clutch.

Tuning the car or running F/I doesn't affect the NLS. It has a separate window in HP Tuners that is unaffected by fuel maps. You can adjust RPM and TPS activation windows but otherwise I can't see how a tune or boost would affect it.

Same. I have tried it in all drive modes, launch mode activated, etc etc etc...it just pegs redline. I've powershifted 1st to 2nd but it just feels like a normal powershift. I get no "factory NLS" sensation at all.

Just feels like a normal old powershift to me. And I don't hear this "pop" in the exhaust from the fuel cut, which just makes me believe more-so that it doesn't work.

Someone needs to make a video about this!

This video here doesn't sound like NLS to me. It sounds like powershifting in any other car...

Member Slick3 made this video...he used NLS. Now, granted he has headers (so his pops a lot), but you can clearly hear the pop noises on the shifts. It won't be quite as noticeable from inside, but you should still hear a pretty loud pop/pops when using NLS correctly from the fuel dump. Fuel in hot exhaust = weird noises.
