Of course, the hope is always there that you end up with two sets of rims, but if GM comes out next month and says "LPO wheels are $2k and do not come with an extra set of factory wheels" would you change your order?

I really would like GM to clarify this. And it seems to me that the price differences make me think that LPO wheels are an extra set, like on the Corvette, but then that begs more questions: Do the LPO wheels come with tires?

That could be the reason for the cost. As the rims are just painted versions of the aluminum rims. Cost on tires is about $1,000. So, maybe we're paying for tires and rims in this case. But again I doubt it as it is not specifically stated.

I can't change my order even if I wanted too. I hit 3100 status, which means no changes. I would have to allow my car to get delivered and pass on the car when it arrives and submit a new order and wait all over again.

This is a recent update on the fleet guide for some LPO wheels:

Exterior section-(SHH) LPO, 20" (50.8 cm) 5-split spoke low gloss Black wheels, updated footnote 1 to now read "Not available with (SFE) wheel locks, LPO. When ordered with factory-installed (REG) 18" Silver-painted aluminum wheels, a more sporty ride will be experienced."

Exterior section-(SHL) LPO, 20" (50.8 cm) 5-spoke gloss Black wheels with Red outline stripe, updated footnote 1 to now read "Not available with (SFE) wheel locks, LPO. When ordered with factory-installed (REG) 18" Silver-painted aluminum wheels, a more sporty ride will be experienced."
