Looking for suggestions on Ride Height Sensor adjustment
Hey guys,
Well my Hertz Hendricks Callaway ZL1 build has finally been completed, full conversion to ZL1 1LE, and sent to Callaway to put the last couple of items that Hendricks Motorsports and Hertz left off. Since the conversion to ZLE, I added the shock cancelors and on the road everything has been great, however last night at our first event at Mussleman Honda Circuit, after a couple laps, I received the Service Suspension error on the DIC. My guess is that the ride height sensors are going out of range in heavy cornering? Anyone have some recommendations? I have an OBD2 Kiwi 3 scanner, and HP Tuners, I'm not sure of how to possibly 'scan' for what the code may have actually been? Thanks for your assistance. Dave

Unless the sensor broke I don't think there's really an "out of range" code you can get. I'd assume it's something to do with the resistors than anything else if it's hardware related, but no way to tell for sure without reading the codes. You'll need to take it somewhere that can read GM specific diagnostic trouble codes like a dealer or an independent shop. Regular code readers can't do it and a code reader that can will be in the high hundreds or even a couple thousand dollars.

Ride height is one of the principal inputs to the chassis control system. If you alter the ride height, then you need to reset it. The dealer can do this, but I'm unaware of a 3rd party tool that can do it with the stock chassis control system. It cost a buddy of mine like $150 for the dealer to do it.

My friend owns and engineers these, and they work great. I had them on my car when i went DSSV and i had no codes. |

Yah, not sure if it’s my cancelors, forgot the brand I have. Or if the ride height sensors just need calibration? My GM tech friend is taking some time off, and so I’m going to need to find someone I can trust in AZ again. Best Regards, Dave

Other than flight mode, all tires off of ground at speed, what are the ride height sensors used for in the chassis control module? My question comes from: when adding the ZLE high wing spoiler to a mag ride ZL1, does the lower rear height at speed change the way the car acts or reacts? Is there really enough of a difference from the CCM that a non-professional driver would be affected by it?
