On the ZR1 it is "front balanced" with an underwing to prevent the lift and instability that can accompany that much down force. Furthermore, the ZTK wing is mounted with hardwar to the frame with metal brackets. Weapon X uses billet for his ZR1 brackets but I don't know if factory trunk mount brackets would be strong enough for that much down force. I have a 2017 ZL1 and would have to determine the instability and steering response to so much down force on the rear. Weapon X quality and engineering is second to none however I would like to see some data on durability, handling and other factors affecting safety before mounting this laege wing on the trunk of my ZL1.
The total downforce of the entire car is 900lbs, not just the wing

GM already went ludicrous-mode on the ZL1 1LE, including its wing. If the ZR1's wing was going to improve performance I sure they would have used it.

I'd bet the ZL1 1LE's wing is the exact balance of downforce and drag to reach optimal lap times.

My guess would be that the ZR1 wing is going to hurt lap times and certainly hurt 0-60 and 1/4 mile times if you're into that.

Having said all that -- there's nothing wrong with modding purely for cosmetic reasons
Just putting it out there.
ZR1 came out a littttttle later than the ZL1 1LE

Keep us posted Ben...I want a beefier rear wing with medium stanchions, but I still can't picture the ZR1 wing on the ZL1, in my mind!

Their development timelines overlapped quite a bit.
If there was an opportunity to share a part between them, that would have happened.

No doubt the wing research teams collaborated since they're similar (a long way from the previous gen).

If GM chose not to put the ZR1 wing on the ZL1 1LE, they had a good reason.

Have you ever seen Corvette and Camaro "share" the same wing? No... Their aero is designed around the car entirely by two completely different design teams and engineering teams.

You make my point. If the wings were designed around the car by teams focused on that car, why would you think slapping a ZR1 wing (designed for a Corvette) on a Camaro would be better than a 1LE wing designed for a 1LE?

And to be honest, I've never seen a wing on a Camaro or a Corvette from the factory until now.

First, without using CFD to at least provide some data, it’s tough to just throw numbers around like this based on Corvette. You’d be surprised at the little things that can impact aerodynamics. As pointed out, the base aero of the cars body and shape has so much impact on how the air will hit that wing and what it can actually do. Speaking from experience here.

Second any wing that provides more down force also provides less FE.

Third, OP I appreciate the effort here. A ton of work. But the wing is overpowering the appearance of the car. 7” wider is simply too big for the appearance, just JMO and that’s something others might appreciate. Good luck.

What about this style wing for the Camaro!? I think the new C8 Z06 is exotic looking + functionality. I’d love to see how this (style) would look on our cars
