2020 SS Air Intake Snow Deflector Removal
I understand there is a plastic "snow deflector" in the grill of the SS, is there any benefit to removing this (better airflow into the intake?) and if so, how hard is it to remove?
I live in SoCal so this car will never see snow (and hopefully not rain for a very long time as I have a different DD)... Thoughts?

15-20 minutes IIRC
I used this to make it easier, but you can use the shorter version if you stick your hand in there.

Holy crap, that was a pain is the butt, but I did manage to get it out (and got all 3 clips loose but the bottom one is a total b!tch)...
Also, make sure to take note where your hood latch is before loosening it, the hole on the latch are rather large (to provide for adjustment) took me 2 times to get the hood lined up right (first time the leading edge of the hood was a couple mm below the training edge of the front fascia).

Before I sold my 1le, I had the Velossa front grille ram air scoop. I never had an issue sucking up water. I didn't often drive in rain but never had an issue.

On my 2010 SS I had an Apex scoop behind the left duct feeding a CAI, Inc. intake and never had an issue,. Saw road trip rain a good bit. So I would imagine this wouldn't be an issue.

After the Velossa install on my car I was wondering if any "rammed rain" was going to end up on the GM CAI filter{ haven't been in the rain with it installed yet}..It sure looks like a problem waiting to happen..Glad to hear you didn't have a problem..Taking just the deflector off shouldn't create a problem IMO..

Is there any evidence this provides a benefit on an otherwise stock SS? The SS airbox setup is sized for the ZL1 air flow demands, so I'd be surprised if there's a benefit, but would be interesting if any anyone has some data!
