Cold night (45 degrees), no tire warm up, on unprepared road surfaces, M6 2SS....I was able to get 4.7 seconds. On streets, you definitely have to ease into the throttle. My best launches were done with a gradual succession (don't confuse that with slow) of throttle pressure. My worst ones were with me mashing the pedal. Just takes practice. I'm sure I could get into the low fours with a little more practice.

Half throttle vs the launch control feature...what would you guys recommend bend for optimal 0-60 times?

Did you try that?
I didn't see that in the manual, but I read the part about launch control. I didn't use it but I would think you would get a better 0-60 by using launch control.

According to the manual you can active launch control by putting the car in competitive mode, applying the brake pedal hard, and holding the gas to WOT.

yep downhill both ways

the car is super easy to launch... 4.0 is really easy to do. As I add HP it does take a little more throttle feathering.

I have not finished break in and thus haven't even pushed the gas all the way in first. But to me it seems like there is too much power for an EASY launch. Couple pointers?

Those of you who are getting 4.0 0-60 times...what technique did you use?

Everybody scared me that I finally own a car I won't be able to launch, so I went out and tried....
First launch 4.3
Second 4.5
Third 4.0
I live in the desert and it is 96 right now. Streets are cool because of low temp last night. Hardly ideal conditions. How do I post a pic? I took one for proof.

Technique-
Initial 2500
Once car moves put it to about 4k
When it catches 100%throttle
Zero spin off the line but a little when I got to 100%

Nice run. That technique helped a lot. I ran it once and managed 4.3 seconds on a 1/2 tank of fuel at 1361 density altitude.

this is a zero to 80 run (top of 2nd).

From what i can see is that you rev to 2800-3000 RPM and then quickly release the clutch, wait a second to gain traction and the fully accelerate? If you slow the video down, you can see 0-20 instantly and the timer is at 0.01.

Are these stock tires also? Did you do a burnout and lower tire pressure?

Thanks!

they are summer performance tires, burn out is useless. There is slight wheel spin, it is not floored at launch. tire PSI is around 28 rear 45 front. Got like 20 vids and 250 launches not, so every video is a little different resulting in slight differences in run. I find a slight bog (launch too low of RPM) preferable to blowing the tires away. The clutch is slipping for the most part during the first 1.5 seconds. It is NOT pop the clutch... too much shock load.
