They will still be manifolds. Headers will be more open and overall better.

Pros: tunable, no drone, factory equipment, cheaper than adding aftermarket catback, xpipe better for exhaust scavenging, drone possible with aftermarket.
Cons: heavy ugly muffler, probably not 3" piping, x pipe not h (so more rasp). I like the single tip better but guess not having dual tips could be an issue for some. |

I to was on the fence about purchasing the NPP, however, after reading everyone's comments people bring up some valid points. The fact that it comes from the factory and is covered under warranty in addition to being able to control the exhaust note has push me in the direction of making the NPP a must have. Not to mention sounds great! Thanks all.

I added NPP mufflers to my 2010 because they sound and look great.
Since it will be an option on the next one I buy, it'll be checked in the options. My plan is to have this car(first I plan to buy new or order) perfect. Everything I want from the get go.

Borla has an NPP option on their exhaust for the C7 Corvette. Wonder if they will be making it for the 6th gens too...

A borla catback is 1400 bucks. NPP is 895 and you get butterflies with it instead of paying extra for a catback to have (like the c7 borla one which probably the catback alone is going to cost 2 grand...).
It isn't even worth talking about an aftermarket catback lol. Not to mention that you can still add headers (tri oem headers are legit.... why bother) and add an xpipe. So you just saved yourself A LOT of money. I won't go into the cost of labor as you could install it yourself on jackstands/ramp in 10 minutes for the xpipe and catback. Headers install is a whole other ball game though. |

I just want a deep growl when I start the car and do low RPM drives.. I see the NPP is just useful when you are going close to red line and even then, its not as masculine of a sound as I would want. I'd love to do the NPP, but I want the deep rumble when I start the car.

From what I have been told even if I got the NPP option to go along with my V6 engine, it still isn't loud enough because of the V6. You have to get the V8 to take full advantage of the rumbling sound from the NPP exhaust.

Pretty sure the tri-y's are tubular headers, not cast manifolds.

Camaro has headers:
You can tell because of the round tubular shape as well as the connection welds, and smooth surface. Welded tubular headers. Corvette has manifolds: Notice the 1-piece construction with mold seams as well as the sandy finish? Sand-casted manifolds.
