Question Corner Weights

Anybody weigh their Camaro lately? I used my old ProForm wireless scales and got the following corner weights on my 2016 2SS. All weights in pounds. No driver. Full take of E85.

LF 916 RF 1012

LR 754 RR 752

Total: 3,434 lbs.

I'm thinking Chevrolet accounted for the driver and intentionally kept the left-front a little lighter.

Next time I'll get a weight with the driver.

3434?? Wow, ...well, I weighed my at one of the certified CAT truck scales: 3740 with full tank of gas and no driver. 2018 2ss A8 NPP. Wondering where the other 300# went or came from....

I find that very interesting, considering my 2018 V6 weighed 3380 lbs (with 1/2 tank of fuel) on a certified cat scale. Every published source, along with multiple personal verifications, show the SS to be anywhere from roughly 3600-3800 lbs to cover the broad spectrum

Sounds like your scales need to be calibrated...mine was 3625 with no rear seat and 40lb weight loss in wheels/tires

That's why I posted. I just wasn't sure. So, I contacted ProForm and the gentlemen is sending me calibration instructions. I'll need 500lbs. of sand bags per scale only doing one at a time. Supposedly, it's then accurate to 1/2 of 1%.

I measured myself, which is a quick ballpark measuring method, and it measured me 2.6% over my actual weight.

The scales were zeroed before lowering the car on them.

In any case, I'll try to get what I have working before sinking $800.00 in a new 7K set. Mine are 5K.

If don't have the four scales perfectly level to one another, the corner weights are meaningless. The overall weight should still be accurate, though; but like the others I don't believe there is any way your car is that light. So do the calibrations, but don't think about corner weights unless you really have the scales level to one another.

Put the engine oil and tranny fluid back in and try again. Oh, and fill the cooling system, too. Let the nitrogen out of the tires and refill with regular air. You'll be all set.

In all seriousness - are you still running the OEM wheels and tires? If you swapped out to something else, that could account for -some- of it.

Also worth blending in here is that the coupes are lighter than the convertibles and the manuals are lighter than the automatics. So, the lightest car is a manual coupe while the heaviest (at just under 4000lbs) is the automatic convertible. Weight distribution should be 54/46
