Do you have any type of hardware store in your area? Take one of the factory screws out of the bumper cover and take it in to the store to have them match it against something else that is longer (to whatever length you determined would be necessary).

The way these go in, if I remember correctly, is that there is a "generic" hole drilled through the component "inside". A speed clip is snapped over that hole to provide a threaded receiver for the screw to go into. Those clips can and do fall off if there is no screw in them, but otherwise should remain in place. Speed clips are sort of rough gauge in terms of threads and will give and flex a little to accommodate thread pitches that are not perfect matches. |

possibly another option
Yves
You could use the stock/factory screw and mount the license plate the way that the ZL1 1LE is mounted. no spacer is needed.

While they could slip off while you're trying to install the screws, it's unlikely and they wouldn't be "lost" really... Clip them back on and try again. As long as the pitch of the thread is at least very close, there shouldn't be an issue.

mine is made out of 3/32 inch thick aluminum plate ~ 2 - 2.5mm for you. as far as the rest of the measurements, cut to fit the existing holes and stay behind the little air dam.
in american 'easy peazy'
