Yup, this happens if the can is screwed up all the way. Try bumping it up then back off just a smidge, the o-ring will keep it from unscrewing and it'll be easy to service.

Definition: Smidge - informal, a very small amount or part

Mine also has a 90 degree ball valve in the bottom. I drain about 3 oz every 1500 miles or so.

OK guys, upon further review it appears that I have the elite E2 and not the E2X. The X version must have the drain valve on the bottom that mine doesn’t. In any case, I’ll take the advice that you guys gave regarding backing it off slightly once it’s snug. I swear, I’ve had grip gloves on and giving it everything I have and can never get that thing to budge once it’s been on there for a while. A drain valve makes total sense for these systems.
