PDR wind noise

Has anyone figured out a way to minimalize the wind noise when recording on track? Any ideas on where the microphone is?

The mics are in the front pillars (A pillars). I cover them with tape on the track but there’s still alot of wind noise

I use these on my gopro mic's, really helps, I bet they would work nicely on those a pillar holes -

For noise

I have considered taping a cotton ball over the top of mine.

I still question if the mic is actually in the a pillar. I’ve placed foam and tape over it, never made a change in sound. Perhaps that’s only a mic for handsfree phone.

Good point. I did a brief google search and found that on the C7 Z06 forum they talk about the PDR mic being behind the rear view mirror right next to the camera. I’ll try to look there for it tomorrow.

The PDR mic is located within the PDR camera housing behind the rear view mirror: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=505286

Part of my to-do list for the off season this winter is to hook up an external mic to the PDR as outlined in the thread I linked to here.

Thanks for the link. That guy ended up doing a ton of work and unfortunately his photo and video links are gone.

Yes and unfortunately most tracks require you to have your windows down during a session.

Would like to add that I did the Strano Wind deflectors near the mirrors and they didn't help at all :(

This is the truth. The Strano Wind deflectors were disappointing. Waste of $110!
