Some random webputer says 1mph in the quarter is 17 whp at 4250 lbs. So yeah it could be production variation, or any combination of that on top of who's in the car, fuel, IAT, the factory, tireslip, draggy, or drivermod. My guess would be more of the latter and less of the former.

rotofab is not that great and is potentially slowing the '22 down compared to the '23. Put the stock air intake on the '22 and repeat the race.

A Rotofab intake isn't going to make any less HP than stock. It may not gain much if any on a stock vehicle either.

with a stock tune, the gains are questionable. The peak hp number may be similar or more with a Rotofab but that doesn't mean the average over the entire rpm range is equal. I have experience with the exact race in question (with and without a Rotofab) and repeated the race with stock air boxes. Result...stock air box wins against rotofab car over a 1/2 mile pull. Stock air box installed...dead heat the entire pull with no advantage on the next race. Confused about the outcome...we put the Rotofab back and raced again...stock air box pulled ahead of the rotofab to confirm the first result. I did not expect that result but it appears it has occurred again.

I agree. The difference is likely the rotofab. On a stock car with stock tune, the rotofab is really just for sound. Thats about it. Once you lean on the tune and are able to actually make use of the increased intake airflow, then you will see the power benefit. Most guys also install the RF and dont disconnect the battery for a while before they start it with the RF on there. The car is going to flip out with the fuel trims trying to compensate for the extra airflow its seeing. You need to clear those LTFTs by pulling the battery when you are installing a RF intake. Let all the adaptives clear and when the install is done, reconnect the battery and drive it like you stole it. The car should feel crispier.

we disconnected the battery each time an intake was swapped to ensure protocol was followed

I would say total weight of driver / passengers and total amount of fuel does make a difference. If you have some big boys in one car with full tank vs two lighter guys with half tank of gas, that will make a difference.

Kind of on topic comment, have you guys tried draggy 60-130 pulls on the same fuel amount while alone?

I put a Corsa on my Zl1 and my 60-130 dropped time.

Rule of thumb is 100 lbs will make a tenth difference in a quarter mile time.

my 23 zl1: 800 miles, sunroof, a10, and stock intake.

both had passengers. I wonder why mine was a bit faster..?
You just made a post a week ago that you have a Rotofab intake.

What's your VIN?

I ask because I had a Z06 Corvette that ended in 666 and I swear they built it strong to make it evil. The fastest Corvette/Car I have owned so far including the C8 and now ZL1 with the same motor.
