19” ZL1 1LE wheel fit ZL1?

Hi Guys

Don’t know why but my search function not working. Hope this easy question…
I have 2018 ZL1. Looking for second set of racing wheels/tires. I’m seeing a couple sets of 19” supercar 3R’s tires available around me. If I can find set of 1LE rims…do they fit with no issues? I know there are different shocks between the two, but don’t know if they would fit w/o rubbing. Would like to know for sure before dropping 2-3k…

Yep, they fit perfectly with zero fitment issues! I ran that exact combo last year, during One Lap of America. ZLE fitment works perfect on standard ZL1's.

Its my understanding that to make 19" OEM ZL1-1LE wheels fit a regular ZL1, the front strut needs notched to make them fit. A few videos out there on YouTube on how to do. Want to say the more recent one is the lonestar Hawaiian.

Shock clearance I believe is only an issue if you change the camber using the knuckle.

The 19's from the 1LE will fit but on a non-1LE ZL1, you'll need to trim the area near the steering knuckle.

Here is a fitment article for different sized tires/rims for different applications and it explains about the steering knuckle issue:

Go about 3/4 of the way down and read the section on steering knuckle clearance and it shows what needs to be trimmed.

Did you even bother to read it before posting? It says it needs to be trimmed for 18” wheels not 19”.

I put OEM Z/28 wheels onto a '17 ZL1 I had. I used 5mm spacers in front to avoid trimming/notching the strut. I went about 3 days without the spacer...right up until the point where I pulled into my driveway with the wheel fully turned and scratched the shit out of the inside of my wheel on the front (because of not notching and no spacer). The ZLE wheels are the same size and offset as the OEM Z/28 wheels for the front, so you definitely should be notching or putting a spacer.

I haven’t had any issues with my wheels. No spacers or grinding was required. I think they will be ok as long as you retain the stock alignment.

If you get under the car with the wheel turned and take a look at the notch area on the strut....you can barely get a piece of paper in there between the strut and the wheel. If you see how close it is, it might make you nervous lol.

I didn't say they would need to be trimmed for 18". I was just showing a post on where you NEED to trim, if you have to.

Other than that, run a 5mm spacer (or not) and you'll be fine if you're staying at street camber.

If you go to the aggressive track camber, then you'll probably start see issues with the wheel hitting the steering knuckle.

Because if you read the article......the track setup's state the you COULD have issues and need a spacer up front for those aggressive track cambers.

No trimming notch for the 19". It is the 18"s you will have to do that. Additionally, you have to move the wiring harness on the Driver's side rear. It takes about 10 minutes to move it.

run a small 3mm-5mm spacer and they fit with track alignment...no notching required. I used 19" ZL1 1LE wheels/tires for many laps at VIR in my '17 ZL1.
