And I tried to secure one of them at msrp back in 2016 so I know exactly what kind of idiots are out there. But like it or not that is somewhat of a measuring stick of a cars success/popularity. The R was a sure thing to command Adm because of "limited" production, but to see GT350's still holding firm on msrp or slightly below 3 years later does say something. On a funny note about quality, when i was searching for a GT350 years ago I ran across one on cars.com that had cloth seats in the rear and leather seats in the front. How do you miss that in the inspection?
I see an extreme amount of used ones on the market with low miles. That means someone bought it, paid too much and it had problems and they dumped it.

Geez, negative nancies with sour grapes!
I hope the new Shelby does well along with the new Supra.

If performance cars tank, they will disappear and we will all be driving plug in cars and econoboxes with wheezy engines.

DCT is cool, but I would not bet the farm that it doesn't develop problems, especially after some hard launches. With the oil consumption of the GT350 and all this newness, I wouldn't be looking too closely at this car, personally.

But then again, I have a practically brand new '18 ZL1 that stuns and amazes me every time I drive it.
I know right, I just got stunned on the way back to work from lunch. And I will be stunned again on the way home. Might as well call it my Stun-Gun. I like the midrange torque of the ZL1 and is a rocket, whereas the GT350 was blowing bubbles out of its ass until 4000rpm and then it took off. I am sure the GT500 won't be the same as the GT350 in that respect.

I would be more inclined to buy the Supra. Better quality, fit and finish and paint.

I hope it does well also, but I'm not going to be a guinea pig for this one.

I'm not negative. I have been anticipating this release for the past few years.

As soon as I read mid 3's 0-60...meh.

Now, if it can approach 10.5 in the 1/4, hold 1.3 g's like the 1LE, or comes in under $70k, I'll be wowed.

So far as I can tell, it is going to be a heavy car and at the most 70 more HP than the ZL1. The ZL1 1LE is so much lighter. It should take the GT500 on a road course, but it will be close.

What I don't get is that shitty transmission. It is not a sports car, it is a boulevard cruiser.

I thought we grew out of push button transmissions like this.!!

I do not think official power figures have been released yet. If the power is around the stated amount and same with weight, and it is Real-Wheel Drive, then that DCT will need to be MacLaren magic to get under 11 sec. in the 1/4 mi.

In an interesting quote, the Ford rep. indicated that the DCT was used because the A10 (a variation of the A10 in our cars) had trouble with the Torque! This is the opposite of what every other source has said on the ability DCT's to handle heavy torque. I would also point out that our ZL1 A10 seems to do fine with 650trq. And yes, I am aware of torque management software and its role in saving the transmission.

I thought that was what Ford wanted was the A10 for all of their automatic scenarios. I was wrong.

Wow they nailed the appearance of the car. It looks beautiful. Dare I say, better than my ZL1 1LE...

But I wish it had side-vents on the front fenders like the GT350.

I also wish our ZL1 had these side-vents.

But its too heavy and it's going to sell for $25k over MSRP...

I will be a buyer. Willing to pay 5K over sticker @ most. This car will not be here till fall. 20K adm’s will go on for over a year proably.

Then you would need a ZR1 that is dubbed one of the fastest RWD vehicles. Your expectations are way too high for that price range. 0-100ZR1 is 6 seconds

I think the GT500 is incredible in it's current state from what I'm reading. I absolutely love the look and the sound of this beast. An engineer claimed that they will continue to tweak the hp to get the most out of it by the time it's finally released. It wouldn't surprise me if the final numbers are somewhere around 750 hp. Either way, it will be a handful. I expect it to be as quick around the track as the ZLE, since I'm sure that was one of their benchmarks. I'm sure it will be substantially quicker in the 1/4. Either way, whether you own a ZL1 or are able to get your hands on the new GT, consider yourself fortunate.
