Front low clearance curb detection

New ZL1 owner (2 weeks) and have been very concerned with possibly gillflirting the splitter with low curbs in parking lots and driveways. Does anyone know of a system that would allow a remote camera or sensor to be mounted under or just above the splitter, possibly in the tow hook thread point? I really don't want to mess up the splitter on a new car. If it was Bluetooth capable it would be even better. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are a number of options. Some of us just opted for a front camera that could be remotely triggered. NavTV makes a great harness that allows for front camera intervention , using the factory screen. Hold down the home button, or can be hooked up to a switch, and the front camera comes on.

I added that, and the Rydeen 360 3D system

My car came from the factory with a camera to protect the front splitter. It's called the "rear view camera".

+2 Reverse only - Rear-view camera is good enough

OP, I understand your concerns. While backing in is the ideal way to park, Some parking arrangements are setup with directional parking, so you can only park front end first.
The front camera is a great way to protect the car from parking blocks. I initially installed one camera for the front. Then I found out about he Rydeen system, and added four more cameras for the 3D surround system, and it’s a game changer

This looks amazing. I'm very interested.

Where did the 4 cameras end up getting installed?
How noticeable?

Is this something you can DIY or do you need a shop?

Thanks

Definitely not a DIY job, and not cheap. You will need a shop for this, preferably one that is referred by Rydeen. Entire setup runs about $2000 for parts labor etc. The cameras are similar to an OEM surround view system. But the Rydeen system goes a step further and integrates in a way that allows for side views and angled views. Looks like a drone is following you when you drive.

Here is my thread, along with some pics of the cameras installed in your side view mirrors, just like in cars with this OEM

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...ghlight=rydeen

also, here are pics that show the curb on the 3D system and on the traditional front view camera
