Let it eat snow today, nothing crazy. Driving was mostly me watching the rear view mirror to ensure the person behind me doesn't slide into me. Watched a Subaru SUV spin out and hit the guard rail behind me when they tried slowing down on an off ramp. I assume bald tires. I had plenty of space and just stayed away from them.

I'm not going to lie... this makes me sad... where there is snow there is salt and where there is salt rust forms... To each their own and I honesty really don't care what someone does with their Camaro... I just hate knowing your car is going to slowly rust away. Once the rust starts, you are not stopping it.

I get it, but it's a new car, not a vintage car, not a classic car, and not a collector. I get paid mileage to drive it. It won't cost me anything at the end of the day and I'll probably log 200k miles on it. I get to enjoy it every day. Hiding cars from the world and being nervous about weather isn't how I live. Where I live, everything gets rust. It's reality. To avoid it means to not drive it, and if I just wanted to look at it I would buy a poster. If I only wanted to drive it on sunny weekends I'd just rent something a few days a year.

I had two options. Buy this for $42k and use it as my daily. Or, buy a classic in decent shape for $20k and buy a daily beater (like a used Accord) for $20k and spend most of my time in my beater. I chose daily enjoyment.

I totally understand and support those that buy these new and just save them for later. I'm not sure what "later" means to them, but it's their decision. Maybe later is for someone else's enjoyment. I considered taking the truck out today but I have stuff in the bed and didn't want to empty it. I have Blizzak on this for that reason.

Everybody knows this, and yet people with salt phobias have to speak up like nobody has ever heard of it before. And then they try to smooth it over by saying they don't care what others do to their car. Why say anything at all? To me, it comes across as rude & condescending.

I bought my first Camaro in 1995, and drove it for the first 3 winters because I had to. (Thereafter, it never saw snow, and rarely even rain, just because I had other cars available.) When I traded it in 27 years later, no painted surface had any rust and it still looked very clean. Sure, there was some rust underneath. It wasn't a show car. I put almost 180,000 miles on it. But it certainly wasn't falling apart at the seams like some seem to think will happen.

Ya, I noticed the Blizzaks... Would you drive it without the Blizzaks on just all seasons or do you require the Blizzaks? That's awesome you get paid mileage. I did the beater thing for years too. I have a nice 4WD as well as the Camaro, so I just use the truck all winter. I wouldn't be able to only have the Camaro for my needs, so I'll always have a truck. There are a couple guys where I work that have their Camaro in the parking lot most days too. It certainly is not unheard of.

Started the project in my garage to have the Obsessed Garage Kranzle K1322TS wall mount power washer system. Been wanting to have one of these in my garage so I can wash the ZLE on the weekends like a king. Got the plumber and electrician getting the hooks up done on Saturday and it should be finished next weekend. This will be the final product for those that don’t know.

Makes me sad as well... mine is a garage queen when it rains or snows (but I get it, as I have another vehicle for my DD)

I did the same thing. Drove my vehicle for work, spent a lot of time in it, wanted to have fun. Could not stand the DD. Bought a Mustang GT, enjoyed work and the car, in Canada with tons of snow and salt. I had that car oiled every winter. Actually kept it for 16 years, original paint in great condition and no rust. I was actually really surprised. Have to admit the SS is a garage queen though.
