My 23 1SS 6spd Manual on list. Have no issues. I'm going to wait for reports back about what this does before I make an appt.

Since the info is very vague from GM I'm going to guess/hope it is an anti theft update and GM wants to keep it quiet. If so and confirmed, guess I'll go make an appt with the stealership.

Gawd, cant wait to be hounded by the salespeople.

I installed the BCM update yesterday with the Mongoose-Plus GM3 and an SPS sub from ACDelcoTDS. I'll do anything to avoid a dealership lol.

As noted previously, a few settings reset from the headunit. I don't have interior color lighting so I can't speak on that. I did have to relearn my TPMS after the update. Once the settings were put back, I haven't noticed any issues. If I lived a little closer I'd take up TurboC3's offer to test the security of the OBD port and making keys.

I hope we get some concrete information before my car comes out of hibernation.

I've got to put together my new quickjack system and do some fluid swaps, but she's coming out in a week or two!

Thanks to those biting the bullet

GMAuthority has an article. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2025/03...-chevy-camaro/

Quote from unnamed GM spokesman:

“This body control module software enhancement involves an important security update for certain model year 2020 to 2024 Chevrolet Camaros,” a GM spokesman said in a statement to GM Authority. “GM counters vehicle theft methods as they evolve. We regularly work with law enforcement agencies to identify emerging tactics that may affect our products and make updates as needed to defend against them.”

GM "Authority" article provides favorable info - but am waiting on our hero, TurboC3, for a test report!

I wonder why that is. I thought most of the changes from 2016>2019>2020 were cosmetic. I do know later model cars are less prone to ice mode so maybe there's more than just what we see.

Maybe just not extending support past 5 model years since it’s voluntary? Or could be the BCM is different and gm has this ready first?

Thanks to everyone that answered my tune question too.

There's always a lot of year to year changes they don't make public, for every automaker.

Appears that GM will replace the defective valve body in addition to the software update https://gmauthority.com/blog/2025/03...alve-warranty/

Good news.
