I don't find the ride of the 1LE any worse than that import with crappy coil overs. we've all been there, driving or passenger, right? I think the 1LE handles so well on twisties and at high speeds it's worth it.

I agree that a Zl1 A10 is the choice for the drag strip.

Just my opinion but a sunroof or a convertible top doesn't belong on a heavy sports car or one you're taking to the drag strip.

LOL, seriously??

Who wants to purposely have a suspension that rides like an import with crappy coilovers, unless you are 19 and trying to be cool, but failing in a big way.

Not saying the ZL1 1LE is that, but your analogy is pretty far off from what any adult would want.

I ordered a ZLE without ever driving one. I have had a history of cars with modified suspension, some extremely stiff and my daily drivers have always been 1/2 ton pickups. I am going to be really surprised if I find the ZLE as harsh as many have said to be honest. Going over decent bumps/rolls in my F-150 on the highway is enough to toss me up in the air sometimes so I can't see the ZLE being even substantially worse than that honestly.

I've found one spot that will throw me in the air.. otherwise it's not bad.

It's better controlled than some of my other track cars and is generally softer than my 3/4 ton pickup unless I'm towing with the truck.

For anyone that's driven cars with well damped high spring rates before the ZLE won't be much of a surprise in ride quality.

its not....maybe your worse 3/4 ton truck with a 6 inch lift kit, but everything else it does very very well. its obvious by response on an internet forum who has had certain vehicles and who has driven there parents v6 Camary there whole lives.

there are trade offs in everything in life the 1LE is one of them. Either that is what you want or it is not.

Ok, got a question and an observation. We are all car peeps or we wouldn't be here?
Reading all our posts there are some that cool, some I don't understand and others I just wonder. We drive these beasts because we have those little pride monkeys (ego) that tell us every time we tee it up on the freeways..."I am the baddest and most lethal machine on this road right now"!!! I get that feel.....I try to tell myself "be cool, shave that show off attitude and just drive....I do that too!! But , once I look around and then back at my black Widow....I just know we are the emperor of speed, the ferocious monster cruising the 4 lanes and people are gawking! My little assbite of a kid comes out and I strut all over again...dropping the gears to wind up the sound of terror right behind that S63 or the M 4 trying to out manuever me in the lanes..., yah, I brag with sound, acceleration and looks! It does register once I hit a few of the impurities in the roads I am rockin and rolling and I don't mean to music. That is a notice that this is the Zl1...but also the 1 LE! It only lasts for a moment before the glide returns and I am glued to the highway like the center lines. It is such a rush that nothing, absolutely nothing takes away from the shot out of a cannon feel hitting the go pedal!!! I love driving this car it hurts to come home and park. Always hoping I have missed one more errand that I can turn around and go again, but alas.....the garage door opens, my widow is put back in it's web only to be let our in the world once again the next day.
MY Question: I did some mods on the exterior...not sure yet and the jury is out on its
look! Always we tinker, sometimes best to let alone, but your opinions are very welcome.
thanks, boys.........Flame on!!!!!

So, that question doesn't seem to be a question?

As for the rest, I drive the ZLE just like any other car on the street. I don't race people or do any of that stuff. It's just a car and I'd rather drive my 200hp BRZ that gets ~3x the fuel economy on a daily basis.

So my ZLE sits in the garage unless I feel like driving it or I'm going to the track with it.

I agree with what you posted Fredz! I bought a ZL1 because of it’s LT4 and of 6 Camaros I have owned including the Z, it’s the fastest Camaro of all of them. Matter of fact it’s the most hp car I have ever owned! I do enjoy driving it and do notice when folks are checking it out when I driving it on the roads. All of us Z owners are in an exclusive club as compared to the other Camaro peeps. The ZL1 and ZL1 1LE are at the top of the Camaro chain and I’m very fortunate to be able to own one. The next step for us would be a Gran Sport Corvette or a Z06 and I would rather drive a Camaro. I’m sure Mr Lee or mlee will give you a good reply to your question. I really haven’t decided to do any mods to mine except for maybe a CAI system. IMO it’s fast enough for me but to each his own to mod theirs. On yours I would have left it like it left the factory because with the black exterior and black wheels it looks sinister to me, but it’s your Z so you can have fun with it and mod to your liking to make it different and unique! Rock on!!!

So THAT is YOUR position and your decision. Like I said, many different replies and takes on the question of the ZLE and it's ride, comfort, strength etc. Mine was given to be MINE and it was relative to the "observation " portion of my post. As for the question, yes, it was the later part of the thread...about what people think of my mods...exterior.

Agree on everyone using the car as they want to.

I didn't understand that question because I thought you were asking about specific mods but didn't include a pic or left something out.

I don't really care how people modify their cars as long as it's not unsafe (like 15 degrees of camber and other stupidity). If they do that, keep it off the street and then I don't care again.
