Camaro SS 2016-2017 Cat Delete Pipe part # 60626 https://www.borla.com/products/camar...rt__60626.html It says its 3" only tho, I wonder: can it still be directly bolted on to the 2.75" midpipe?

Those are for the 3inch system. They have 2.75" as well such as 60606 and 60609. |

The part numbers that he is looking for are 55940 & 55941 (see parts list below) this is the forward section of their secondary cat delete 2.75" mid pipes.
The 60606, 60607, 60609, & 60610 all come in 3 sections, he wants the forward section of the 60606/60609 which have the secondary cat delete that will slide over and clamp onto the mid section of his 60607. Borla does not sell these separately, but I happen to have acquired a brand new set (long story), pictures below, I'm selling these if anyone is interested. UPDATE: Just sold them! Hey David- you can see there is more than a little interest in this product. What do you say? There's alot of of us with a desire for an "Off-road only" affordable 2nd cat delete option. How about a "limited time offer" for the DIYer's out here? I'm referring to part #'s 55940 & 55941.
We'd really appreciate it ! Thank you for considering it. Last edited by Ventmaster; 08-05-2017 at 12:26 PM. |

Can those secondary cat delete pipes mount to the rear stock exhaust?

If you're asking about the forward pieces (Borla 55940 & 55941) that are a part of the 60606/60609 Borla mid-pipes... I guess anything is possible, but it would not be ideal at least in my opinon.
The pieces that everyone has been discussing here are part of the Borla mid pipes and would only be interchangeable with the 60607/60610 forward sections to convert the regular mid pipe kit to a secondary cat delete mid pipe kit. Some of us had purchased the 60607/60610 mid pipes from Borla and now want to swap out the forward section to have the secondary cat delete version of the Borla mid pipes (the 60606/60610). They would not work easily with the stock pipes because they are one long continuous piece of pipe in that section. If you look at the diagram below, you'll see the middle section of Borla mid pipe has an expanded piece on the forward end that allows you to slide the forward section into it and then clamp it down. That would not be there on the stock pipe, the pipes would just but up against the stock pipe and you'd need to use a sleeve clamp to connect to the stock pipe or have it welded (which would be really tough since one is stainless and the other is steel, so it would need to be TIG welded). Those sleeve clamps seem to never seal well but I guess it is possible. The ideal method if you don't want to weld is to leave a extra few inches on the stock end and have it expanded so you can slide the Borla into it and then clamp it down. |

If you got the entire borla system without the mufflers would you be able to clamp this system to the muffler in the back? Worst case Weld it?
Sound like its smarter to do that since this unit will remove the secondary cats and bolt right after the primary cats all the way back to the NPP muffler
