Bought a Mazda long back, and the dealer gave 4 free oil changes a year for life with the purchase of the car. Sounded great, but...

First time, even though I made an appointment to get my oil changed, it still took several hours for it to get done, which was annoying since I can pull up to any JiffyLube and be in and out in 20 minutes or so without an appointment.

So the next time, I made an appointment, but dropped the car off. Get a call from the dealer, and they told me one of their service techs drove someone else's car into mine causing body damage. They told me it was okay, since they would fix it. Which they did, but it took several days before I got the car back.

Next oil change, I pick up the car, and I smell cigarette smoke like someone has been smoking in my car. Call the service center to complain, and the lady told me it was probably because the guys smoke, and their cloths smell like smoke. But I told her it wasn't a faint smell, it was the smell of a smoker's car like someone was actually smoking in my car. She denied everything. So, I got back into my car pissed off so I could run some errands, and when I turned around to back out of my driveway, I see an old portable black and white TV with a coat hanger for an antenna in the back of the car. So, it looked like one of the techs used my car to run some errands, smoked up the place, and forgot their TV. I march back into the house and called the lady back to inform her about the TV. She still DENIED EVERYTHING! I asked her how the TV got into the car, and she said it couldn't have been anyone at the dealership.

The next (and final time) I went for the free oil change, I picked up the car, and I could smell burning oil. I thought maybe they spilled a bit on the exhaust or something, and figured the smell would go away. But after a few days of smell, I took it back to the dealer, and they told me my oil pan was leaking, and they would need much money to put a new gasket on it. I flipped out and took the car back. Looking under the car, I can see that they had messed with the pan. Several of the bolts had fresh marks on them, and I could even see a mark where they pried the pan to open up the leak.

Long story short, I made a big fuss (including calling the better business bureau and threatening to sue them), and they tried to give me some credit for the service department so it would offset some of the cost to change the gasket! They denied everything of course.

And don't get me started on what JiffyLube did to my other car. So, I just change my own oil now. It's hard to find good service.
Chevy Bolt EV just started looking a lot better. No oil changes.
