I still think this isn't a terrible number for the Camaro it's an increase over last month some but I can't discredit the numbers still based on the limited run of the 5th Gen and there still being so many out there with less then 4 years on them.

Just me, but If I can't afford a V8 in a Camaro, I don't want a Camaro, mustang or challenger.
Food for thought, according to stats elsewhere....the 2015 MY mustang production run saw more V8 mustangs produced than either V6 or 4CYl.

2015
Total Produced (USA): 110,648
Total 5.0's: 43,862
Total Ecoboost: 39,264
Total V6: 27,522

I haven't seen the stats yet for 2016, however...it's easy to see why Ford decided to drop the v6 lineup.

people saying its about looks are nuts. I'll admit I really liked the challenger when it came out, very cool retro style and those headlights were sexy. but its gotten waaay stale. they haven't updated it really since launch. and the more I looked at it the more the boring, undefined, brick looking flat sides of the car made it look fat and bloated. Is that what a muscle car is supposed to look like?

The '15 and '16 mustangs look pretty good. but there's so many stangs on the road I don't know why anyone would want to be part of that crowd.

I'll be honest here, I kinda liked the 5th gens when they came out. But I saw too many of them too. And the more I saw the less I liked them. like the challenger, too bloated, to rigid. big retro front end looked dumb. And since the 6th gens came out, the 5th gens look even worse to me. sorry 5th gen guys

When I fist saw the 6th gen I was intrigued. when I saw it battle with an 80k BMW, I was in love. I studied and obsessed about this car for months before I finally was able to buy one. And every time I walk out to a parking lot, I fall in love with it again. every time I see a challenger, a mustang, or a 5th gen Camaro I fall in love even more because they make me feel so much better about my choice.

Its expensive, but its still a huge bargain when you consider what it can compete with. If you're a real car guy who cares about performance, and track capabilities, its in another league from the Challenger and mustang. There's no comparison.

And personally, I'm kinda pleased its not selling extremely well. One thing holding me back when I was first thinking of getting one was I didn't want to see the same car on the road everywhere like I do with the 5th gen, the challenger and the mustang. And I'm very pleased I haven't. I'm the kinda guy who likes to have something special. But don't get me wrong, I have no delusions about this being some kind of collectors item. Unles I keep it for like 50 years, which I don't currently plan to do.

Its selling well enough to keep it alive. I'm glad I don't see em all over the road. Its priced perfectly. I think chevy should be doing more advertising, because seeing cool commercials while I'm on my couch would be one more way to fall in love with my car. But I'm happy with what it is, and I don't think we've seen the last of these Cars. Chevy knows what theyre doing. Any real muscle guy loves a sleeper.

I haven't seen one commercial dedicated for the camaro. Only those annoying "these are real people not actors" commercial that might have a camaro in it. They really need to market this car other then transformers movies.

actually while reviewing camaro sales numbers through the years and the biggest year being 1979 i realized that huge year with 282,000 sold.....the lame new 79' mustang with no real performance model actually sold ....369,000

so there is more than sales.

Well said, and that's the attitude we all need. The SS kicks ass. If the masses don't understand it, so what.

Hard to get many sales over here in the winter (Canada) I own a business in Ontario and February is my worst month basically dead even January is slow march on is better for me.

My contractor friends are the same should see some more sales later on but I paid $53500 plus hst came to $60,000 dollars for a 2SS in Ontario that's a hard one to swallow if your a average person trying to make a income I was paid 24.50 an hour before I went self employed and I couldn't afford a Camaro that says something!

The 1LE package has been always offered since the 5th gen as a manual only, they are just following tradition also.

Jam32 nailed it perfectly. As I read through the comments the same thoughts occurred to me. I have had 6 Corvettes throughout the years. I like having something a bit special or different. I don't care to see myself coming and going with gen6 everywhere. Also, styling is great (I'm picky) when it comes to looks. I'm also extremely impressed with the engineering GM has put into this car. It is not a car for the masses. It's a nitch market. Pricing is somewhat of an issue I will agree. Sales are skewing toward SUVs and trucks. A Camaro is not a practical family car purchase. It's not utilitarian. It's a personal automobile for people that appreciate sporty looking and handling cars. I've been a car nut as long as I can remember. My daily driver is a '15 Grand Cherokee. The car I play with is the Camaro. I think GM is finally building cars that are world class. Im a person that once upon a time always bought a car that was 2 or 3 years old with low mileage to save a few bucks. Im now able to buy almost anything I want and understand that all cars are getting pretty damned pricey in my mind. I do believe pricing of the Gen6 does eliminate a number of potential buyers. But I agree. I do think GM is doing pretty well with this automobile.

Let me preface this by saying, I contributed to the Challenger spiking this month, because I got rid of my 6th Gen for a 2017 Challenger Hellcat!!

Lack of sales is easy to explain....for most people, putting the performance aside, the Camaro is the least practical car of the three and at least on sticker is more expensive. Interior room is limited, which means if this is your only car, you will look at other options. As far as styling, I have never heard anyone say my 6th gen was ugly.......virtually all of the people who saw my 6th gen liked the style. Features were excellent also.

Mostly enthusiasts frequent this site and I would venture to say most of us have another daily driver. People in that position are not the ones who are going to boost Camaro sales. Chevy needs the people who want a sporty car, but also need to haul groceries, people, etc........and those people also do not care that the Camaro is .5 Second faster in the quarter. Those are the customers who drive sales and sadly even though the Camaro is a great car, the sales are just not there.

Each car as it's own strong points, it just the Camaro's, which is mostly performance, is not translating to sales.

I think the bleeding will continue into the summer.........

I actually agree with you, but not on your decision to purchase Hellcat over ZL1 Sales are poor due to competition in a small market segment where one car does it all the Camaro just doesn't fit the bill for most
