Because the people that want a "tracked focused" car just for show, are the ones that complain about squeaks rattles hard ride fast wearing tires, or I put my two overweight kids in the back and 500 lbs of cement in the trunk and tires now rub... etc. They should just buy a 2ss and add some rims.

By keeping the Bose, heated seats / mirrors etc off the list it keeps the whiners away. It is a track focused car.

I was confused by 1ss only just by looking at the breakdown of 5th gen 1le cars.

My opinion is no one has the right to judge anyone else. And one persons reasons for buying a car are 100% as right as anyone elses.

But where threads like this are useful is to let prospective buyers know what they are getting into. There were a number of people who were unhappy with the 5th Gen 1LE. This time I think Chevy is right on. It will at least get some people to at least think about what the 1LE is before the purchase. Don't hold your breath for a 2SS or auto 1LE. The 1LE will be priced well. I wonder if the 1LE will be a break even car and they will not sell that many. I think it is intended to be a bit of a halo car with a big track rep making people pay attention to Camaros. It is already generating buzz.

You have made the statement before, and I asked then as did others, and got no response. What were the Gen 5 1LE owners unhappy about concerning their 1LEs? I am not saying you are wrong, just asking what you heard.

Even if you never take your 1LE to the track, you can still enjoy its higher performance levels. Its just a WHOLE LOT MORE FUN if you take it on a road course at least once!
This.

No matter what you say, there will still be people out there that buy the 1LE solely for the wheels. Guaranteed.

And there are other people out there who will pay a good chunk of the 1LE option price just to get the wheels alone on their non-1LE car.

I'm sorry but if I buy a 35,000+$ car and it squeaked and rattled on the way home, i'd take that shit back. Track focused or not. While the 1LE is a track focused car, it's not an "Only" track car. If there's people out there like me that want to buy a fully loaded car that they can take to the track every now and then and run the balls off of it then so be it.

On the 5th gen the weight difference between the two wasn't enough for me to care. I believe that is different this time around. Something tells me that was done on purpose for some reviews against the GT350. Which they needed every advantage they could get. Do I think sometime down the line they will offer a 2SS1LE? Yeah. Why not. Just more money in GM's pocket. As for the whiners and complainers, that's never going to stop. Track focused or not, they will complain, but real car guys and the people designing them know best. That dumbass bought a track car and should have bought a 4 banger! Just my 2 cents on that.

for a long time a Vette could NOT be ordered with suspension and T -Tops. I was at the dealer waiting on the company car and sure'nuff there was a Vette with T-Tops (or what I as an oldguy considers T-Tops) and it was some sort of Z06 (insert suspension) and he was gripping bout the tops rattling and squeaking. I'm from the time of the first Camaros and I had a 1969 Z28 and that more then squeaked / rattled. LOL

Too bad they don't offer a convertible 1LE.

You could pay for that too, but never drive with the top down.
