Several benefits which may cross over to the Camaro, including above. As Chevy does it, the highly restrictive intake is replaced by a much less restrictive filter, which allows the sound of the intake to be heard. It also encloses the system in a heat shield box to reduce the impact of engine temperature. The reason a calibration is included is the ecu is designed for the restrictive intake and will dumb down unless told to do otherwise.

Will the intake get a CARB certificate?

I know open top elements generally do not gain their approval.

GM will be 50-state compliant.

I ordered the 6 pistons...ya'll really think they would send red calipers and leave the back ones grey? Asked my dealer before I even checked them on my order and he said he din't think they would have red ones on the front and grey on the back but I'm concerned now. Don't care if the slotted rotters are only on the front but I do care if my front and back calipers are different colors.

If I'm not mistaken, the 6 pots are dealer installed. Meaning, the rear will be original factory grey, and the fronts will get changed to the 6 pots at the dealer.

Correct, the 6 pots are a LPO and are dealer installed

Sucks don't it. Looks like someone will need to change their order or make use of some spray paint

I want a Video of the performance exhaust.

Even though no matter what I'll probably end up with one of the big name aftermarket ones.

One thing I don't get. They were so worried about the weight of the car but, that suitcase muffler looks very heavy.

Anyone want to venture a guess at cost?
Figures that right after I added the NPP exhaust they announce this. Granted I like the idea of dual mode so I have no intentions of switching my order.

Anyone think a company will come out with aftermarket mufflers that will still work with the NPP exhaust?

The demand is there, but I worry that welding will be required, so there might be a core exchange on the actual solenoid.

I base this all on this picture, so my worries could be completely unfounded. But it certainly seems like the butterfly housing is welded in.

I'm betting it isnt nearly heavy as it looks

I had looked at pictures previously but I didn't notice that the solonoids were on the 2 extra exhaust tips. Makes sense that they would have to be once I stop and think about it even a little bit.

For some reason I was thinking it was before the muffler. (Which makes no sense at all.)

Yeah.... Developing an aftermarket system to work with NPP that improves on the existing system is going to be extremely difficult. Think most systems will eliminate or exclude NPP functionality.

You might have been thinking of these guys:

Which, I believe, are light spring-loaded butterflies which close when the engine switches down to 4-cyl mode, to provide a bit of backpressure and perhaps to eliminate some drone due to AFM. I think all of the V8 exhaust systems have these, not just NPP.

I Believe Borla made one for the C7, while corsa said nahh.

Wonder if anyone could confirm if they have plans on doing so with the Gen 6 or not. I Loved my Borla cat back on my 2002 Trans am
