You really don't need the bucket handle on T-tops though. See the Porsche 911 targas, and the C8 Corvette coupe (not convertible). They both have removable tops without the handle.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. I always thought T-Tops and Targa were the same. Either way, I'd love to see the Camaro with the liftback and an optional targa/removable roof.

You can look at the Trans-am Depot cars if you wanna see what a Gen6 T-top would look like. Personally there's something off about it with the side window. Could also be the retro look of it. Dunno, just not a fan. And I loved T-Top IROCs.

The savings on gas isn't "huge", on the highway you can easily get 26-28 in an SS. Both of mine did.

While I -can- look at those cars, I don't want to... it hurts my eyes. lol

I'd prefer a t-top for the gen 6. Would be super cool and throwback to the original pony car era. Targa works on the Vettes, but it's pretty Euro.

When do you think "the original pony car era" was? T-tops weren't a thing until the 'vette introduced them in '68. They didn't show anywhere else until '76 (TA). Pony cars were long gone by the time the T-Tops became more mainstream with the Trans-Am.

I'm not a fan myself, especially when people start clamoring on about them being real Trans-Ams, but just an example of how'd they'd look.

yep.friend of mine claims to get 26-28 in his SS,but has to keep it at 74 or under.seems kind of crazy to be passed by every corolla on the highway to get good mileage though.

I make runs to MA from TN regularly. Average speed of 70, lots of playing around in between. 400 miles averaging 27-30. On par if not better than my V6 was and far fewer triple digit runs.

My V6 would routinely get 31-32 (best was 33) on the highway on 87 octane. The biggest savings was being able to run 87 with no real worry or penalty.

My 2010 never came close to 30. Think it topped out at 27 or so. Averaged low 20’s otherwise. As far as savings, roughly $11/fill up at current prices here in TN.

Yeah the lighter weight along with the 8 speed and cylinder deactivation probably make all the difference. Even at 80 mph it still only turns 1800 rpm

No cylinder deactivation on the manual

Right I meant on mine. My 3.0t AWD MKZ can't even come close. That's one thing I miss on the Camaro
