Agreed... I realize Jason's will also have clamps, but being his 'main tube' portion is one piece compared to zzp's two piece his will be a much tidier install (and more reliable)

Good on you! Them pulling down the review and not defending their product paints the picture pretty clearly for me

Spent some hours making these guys today. They will be heading to be anodized Monday morning. Now I just need to stock up on tubing material and start cranking those bad boys out.

Agreed I have been tempted to buy the ZZP Throttle Body but I recall someone said they've had issues?

These won't be ready in time for Christmas, but perhaps late Jan, early to mid Feb. Hopefully sooner than later. I just received the first tube back from being coated with Cerakote heat dissipation coating, it looks pretty amazing! I have some of the materials to build the first bach of tubes, waiting on the rest to show up, I'm also going to make one change to the design which should allow for better/smoother airflow, and gain some more clearance in the engine bay.

Each tube will be coated with this heat dissipation coating... They will not be painted, powder coated, or ceramic coated, because these are INSULATORS! They keep hot air in, where as this special heat dissipation coating actually helps to wick the heat out, which will keep the incoming charge air cooler! I was not overly happy with the way the anodizing turned out on the adapter plates, so I'm going to try and have some Cerakoted with another heat dissipation coating and see how they turn out.

The tubes are a color called "Transfer Gray", here is a little info from the manufacturer:
Quote:
Cerakote Heat Dissipating Coatings are a line of submicron coatings with industry leading thermal conductivity. Transfer Grey is typically used on applications requiring a high thermal conductivity to transfer heat away from the energy source. Typical uses included but are not limited to radiators, engine blocks, transmission cases, heat syncs, intercoolers and anywhere heat dissipation is needed.

That said, I want to send two more kits out for testing before these actually going on sale. One going to rorymick as I said I would in the beginning and because his car is still mostly stock like mine, and the other I'm going to contact tonight and see if they want to test on a car with some bolt ons and a tune. Reason I want to do this is to ensure there are no issues once these go on sale. So far it runs flawlessly on my otherwise bone stock Camaro, and seems fine on oemtech's mostly stockish ATS with a canned tune. However I did send one out to another guy with an ATS that had a custom tune and bolt ons, and for some reason he had issues, we kind of chalked it up to a tune issue on his car and he did not want to have his tune modified to see if the issues could be worked out. So further testing will make sure that going forward there will be no issues before these start rolling out the door.

Yes, this is part of the cold side. It replaces the factory plastic tube between the throttle body and the "radiator hose-like" tube from the intercooler.
