It's not confirmed or even hinted that it will be in a ZXX model.

The only mention I have even heard of it lately was a comment in an article about the upcoming Silverado/Sierra HD series about possibly going to the 10 speed in the future, but for now it's the 8 speed.

I cant imagine they would announce the 10sp on the ZL1, the most recent spy shots (assuming its true) were of an F-150 leaving Chevy's proving grounds a few months ago, I would imagine itll get announced on the Silverado/F-150 first, and then hit the Vette, and then start circulating

As far as I know..the first production vehicle with the 10 speed automatic is going to be the 2017 SVT Raptor..

Other than that, it's all speculation, from both sides.

Well where is it?
Don't get me wrong here, there's nothing I'd like more than to see the Camaro start laying down a number on the dragstrip but up until this point in time it is far (very far) a few between that the gens 5 and now the gen 6 are impressive to watch on the track. I'd like nothing more than to say, "Damn" that thing hauls the mail. Once in a while one will sneak in but it's rare.

I like his confidence lol. He's been dropping these hints in threads for months now, I hope he is right. I've never owned an auto but a 10 speed would sway me over.

This is pretty cool

So if you have Access to GM SI(Service information) you will see in the engine photo for right side exhaust manifold removal instructions something very interesting.

Gm has been doing this for years, just gotta know what to look for.

Notice the studs on the shock tower, strut tower brace mounts

They're removable?

It's late and I might be missing it...

would have preferred the Z28 engine. Owned a Dodge Viper in my track days(Michelin challenge series 2002-2006). 500 CI, 600HP, simple fuel system. So power does not have to be complex! I just don't see the point in supercharged engines other than for drag racing or dyno queens. All that being said, I find my 2016 1/SS really awesome for the price I paid. It will be on the track next month.
One of the most successful GP cars of all time ran dual superchargers, and most GP cars from the 20's through the 60's were supercharged. Superchargers were used extensively in road race engines long before drag racing and dyno queens were around. The Car I am referring to was 1.5 liters @ 450 hp @ 9500 rpm in a straight 8 configuration. It kept the displacement down so the engine size was small, but produced remarkable power output for the size winning against normally aspirated engines of over twice the size. They did fall out of favor because the fuel required to run the cars was very dangerous, and the exhaust fumes were quite toxic for the driving participants. The manufactures were able to run without the cooling issues and they were achieving 450 HP out of about 100 cubic inches of displacement in the 50's

In today's world you will surely see more and more forced induction, even my service vehicle has turbo's.

If your taking a purist view that race cars are always naturally aspirated, consider for the first 50 or so years of high end auto racing, the winning cars were almost always supercharged in F1/GP racing.

Love nothing more than for GM to step up to the plate in an affordable manner such that a working man could afford their performance cars. Of course that's a silly statement in a time when a pick up truck costs $60K.
There are quite a few gen 5 Camaro's on the road today but the performance on the track is marginal at best. In 1985 the IrocZ was well underpowered but like todays car it was impressive going around corners.

The '85 IROC Z was a better handling car than the 5th-gen and 6th-gen cars? I ask only to clarify what you said.....
