Some advice, try not telling people what to expect or think.

I apologize if I'm wrong, but aren't you the same one that complained about GM not telling you things ahead of time in another thread? I don't get it... Why do you feel entitled to know these things earlier than GM has to release the information? They are not going to tell us about a new car that is going to come out a year plus from now. You seem to think that this is common but trust me it isn't. For you to tell someone to give you an effing break is being a bit harsh...don't you think?

I already gave you an example of ford not releasing information on the gt350 early just to prove to you that it is not common. Only your only response was " whatever"

if you feel like not buying this car simply because GM won't tell you information about a car early then please go buy something else

well I certainly wouldn't expect an intelligent response. Seems like par for the course.

^ What a well thought out response.

Look, if you want it, buy it, if you don't want it then don't buy it. If you feel that the way GM releases information is poor, that's fine, frankly I'd love to be a fly on the wall in executive planning meetings.

But there's is always something new around the corner. If you always wait for the next best thing, you'll always be waiting. Gotta pull the trigger sometime, right?

Anyone want to make a guess on when the announcement will come?

New York AS timeframe? Im guessing GM is going to want to put some competition against the 350/R ASAP and thatd make them MY 2017s (them being the 1LE/Z28/ZL1, or some combination thereof)

Im still not in tune with the development/announcement/release timetables

the most conservative answer to that is that at least ONE of those harder core variants will be released MY 2017....

If went by previous patterns, the Z variant will come out in 17, followed by the 1LE in '18....

I sincerely hope I'm wrong since I will be waiting for a 1LE and the fact it seems to be testing at the same time as the new Z then perhaps we will get two for '17.

That would make some marketing sense since the 350 and 350R are out now and available for sale.... Chevy seems to be playing a game of " lag by one year" to Ford....

I'm pretty confident a new track oriented Camaro6 is on the near horizon from GM. I also feel certain it will compete well (read that stomp) the Mustang GT350R. It may even be a good competitor for the Mustang GT500 Ford's working on. There is so much performance potential available for the 6th gen Camaro that some who bought early 2016s may wish they had waited. Same with the C7 Stingray where many bought early and the Z06 was so much better performance wise, that many traded Stingrays and lost tons of bucks.

However, the difference in cost and performance between the Camaro SS and a future greater performing Camaro 1LE/ZL1/Z28 could be made up with aftermarket parts. I honestly can't and couldn't see the extra bucks for the ZL1/Z28...the 1LE was a bargain by comparison.

I personally believe there not going to make a new 1LE. Which is good news for 5th gen 1LE owners and would make it a rare model.

The 1LE doesn't have to follow the Z. The 1LE has been around since the 3rd gen, longer than the ZL1.

It seems a lot of people think many of the trims, names and models that returned with the 5th gen are NEW for the 5th gen...

Maybe he figured the 1LE needs to follow the ZL1 since the 5th gen got most of its bits from the ZL1?

THIS

Chevy did the same with the new Performance Package Stingray.... take all the go fast goodies from Z06 except engine.... I htink Chevy is afraid of losing customers on the Z's debut year if they can have 85-90% of the handling for only a few more grand on top of an SS......

I think they have to do a 1LE because that's how the gen 6 will get the PDR and better tires. Sticky tires, m6 + 3.91's and lightweight wheels will make a big difference.
