Track = NCM Motorsports Park
Elapsed Time= 2:13.87
Camaro Model = 2017 SS 1LE
Date= 3/15/2020
Tires= SS 1LE 220tw G3
Mods= Strut mod for camber, Hawk DTC 60 pads front and rear

I continue to be amazed at how capable this car is stock. Had a lot of fun today with a number of Camaro buddies including jpdaugherty and 5senna5. Went to the track today hoping to match Andy Pilgrim's NCM time, didn't expect the result. Got lucky on weather (mid-low 40's) and the track felt terrific. Again, this is on OEM 285/305 G3 220tw tires. BTW, jpdaugherty won the "loose is pretty fast" award today with his old heat-cycled out RS4's.

Thanks David- was great to meet you. 2:19 damn fast for you first ever time tracking the SS! Its crazy that SS 1LE's are some of the most common cars at track days now... and for a REALLY good reason!!!

David, you stated this was your first in the new 1LE, but I'm curious if you have been on the NCM track before as well?

Honestly, I have no idea. 50+ for sure. As you know, it is so technical, and so much time is gained/lost in the 3 corners leading to the straights (plus the high speed sweepers T5 and T16). It is the only track I’ve ever driven where good advanced drivers who are new to the track can be 6-7 seconds off the pace but feel like, and ARE attacking it, just not maximizing minimum speeds.

Congrats Provoste that's just tremendous!!!
And since you know my opinion on G3s i wont bother repeating myself
Anyway, fantastic lap and a fantastic accomplishment to beat a pro posted time. Period. Full stop.

Yes, I’ve been to NCM probably 15 times. In my 335 (RIP), and have occasionally borrowed my dads c7 z06. Prior best lap times were 2:22s! Super impressed with my new 1LE. Running -3.0/-2.0 f/r camber and stock tires are doing great.

Really, really impressive time Provoste. Now that I'm out of the M3 I'm interested to see what I can muster down there.

...Good info, definitely some nuggets for those with NCM on the radar.

Haha, the 335 served you well (RIP). Now a new love is born! Seriously, congrats on the new PB!!

Thanks, it felt good to execute a full on max attack lap. The Goodyears (like about any street tire) I've found have about a 1 lap window at 10/10ths pace. I had run in the mid 2:14's earlier in the day, and understood my window for pushing. While they have 1 lap at max attack, I could run 2:15-2:16's for an entire 20 min session. The advanced group was pretty spread out yesterday, so it allowed me to treat it almost like a TT, warm up for 2 laps, and build a gap to the car ahead. It was a TON of fun.

What kind of hot pressures were you running on the flyer laps?

This is exactly what I have found with the G3s, though i run my hot lap right after my out lap. Awesome lap and thank you for the NCM tips!

Thanks for the clarification, this was also the case in my experience. I typically got my best laps on OEM tires either on 2nd and 3rd lap.. and after that, the performance on them are consistent but in a lower level (say 2 seconds slower). In other words "they're consistently slower" On a warmer day, even the NT01/R888Rs are this way. You get the best lap typically at the beginning of the session then the performance falls.

Congrats again

Track: NCM
Elapsed Time: 2:16.14
Camaro Model: '17 Camaro SS 1LE
Date: March 15, 2020
Tires: 305 square Hankook RS4s
Mods: Strut Mod

Here's my best recorded lap. Lap timer said I did a 16.00 in there previous session, but I forgot to hit record, so it didn't happen haha. Blown away that a set of heat cycled RS4s, 9 events on them, plus with all my shenanigans at Putnam still consistently put down laps in the 16s.

Props to Provost for setting that blistering 2:13.8!!
