Speaking of burn-in, screens, and Camaro visibility...

How's the live rear-view camera? I haven't used one but I've seen a ton whenever there's a car in front of me at a light. Does it help with visibility? Is the resolution actually good? I know Gen5DIY makes one and it seems like a neat thing to have.

I have the camera on my 2SS but honestly I don’t use it much. I never understood why people bitch about the rear visibility of these cars. I use it sometimes on the highway but the main area I use it is the track. Every bit of visibility helps there. I do not need to use it on the highway but I turn it on simply because it came with my car and I want to get all the value out of what I paid for.

I use my rear camera on the track (awesome there) and when driving on multilane roads. Even when compared to having side mirrors set correctly, the camera is able to show you almost two lanes on each side of the car.

Guess you can reduce it if you switch themes on a regular basis, but I don't, I use the standard theme (with the 4 mini gauges) 90% of the time and the technology theme otherwise. The outline of these four small gauges shows the worst burn-in, but it's not a big deal, you can only see it from certain angles and when the cluster is inactive. The only reason I brought it up is to illustrate how cheap these car makers are with their tech choices.

Yes, 2019+ cars have a higher resolution cluster (1920x1080 vs 1280x720) and possibly different panel technology (cross your fingers ).
...okay, so it's been a while, but I did manage to snap a picture of this phenomenon, see below. The car was turned off when I took the photo.

However, I'm not sure anymore if it's burn-in, because there is a "ghost dialog" in the middle that hardly ever appears ("Start Vehicle to View Application"), so the ghosting might actually be some software glitch driving the panel and retaining the last shown image rather than the burnt-it version of the most often shown gauges. Hard to tell.
