This thread turned into more talk about fuse pull and the NX lid but I was contemplating removing the baffle from the lid. For those of you that did it, what is your long term impression? Did it make a difference? Worth it? Any issues arise? Thanks!

I did it.. No issues have arrived but I've contemplated putting it back on though as I don't know that it makes a real noticeable difference. I only did it because I did a catch can at the same time so the lid was off.
Although having those tiny screws on the underside of the lid removed is somewhat piece of mind as there's no chance of going through the blower now. So I may just leave it, haven't fully decided. |

I've had mine removed for around a month now. I hardly noticed a difference in SC whine, but that may be due to the corsa exhaust I have drowning it out. It's about a 30-45 minute job, so I'd still say it's worth it for the above mentioned reasons.

I did it before I bought the NX Lid, it was worth it if you ask me.

So, I went ahead and did it last night. Weird thing was I got a check engine light afterward. Removed the negative battery cable in the trunk for about an hour and it went away. I actually feel like I hear less whine. Might be putting it back on just in case I have to go in for warranty work.

Yes, I took the plate with the black backing off and installed everything correctly with the correct torque sequence/value. It may be possible the computer was “learning” or pulling power due to disconnecting the battery because the power seems to be back to normal and I do hear a bit more whine.

The stock lid underside vs the NX lid.
