Well not totally gone. Just looked at the September 2004 issues of MOTOR TREND which reviewed a C6 Coupe and ROAD & TRACK which reviewed the C6 Convertible, and both concluded allegations of this being a C5.5 were wrong - which tells me somebody must have thought the same.

In reality, only the Challenger is closest to being a muscle car by the original definition, but then of course the Challenger was a pony car too.
I was referring to styling. The Gen6 looks athletic in comparison to the Gen5.

So muscular styling? I would use the word "angular or blocky" on the 5th gen. Lots of cars can be muscular, that aren't even American. Definitely agree with "athletic" for 6th gen style.

Several years ago they got criticized the C5 to the C6 was a bust because of lack of design change and did not justify the cost to upgrade. I think history just repeated itself here. It is a OK looking car but not as good or striking as the Gen 5 car. Motor, trans, and rear are not revolutionary. The corvette guys are not raving about them. The LT1 has some heat issues and the auto trans has the same heat problem when you get on it. The LS Motors are better but I do not want to go down the emissions road. But I do think the Corvette guys got the better designer and engineering team.
The prices went up to near corvette prices, if there is going to be a ZL1 or Z28 what would those prices look like. As I stated in previous posts I love Camaros, had more than most of you. I just do not get the feeling this is a new car, just a remake in a different scale. Interested in your thoughts, and going to be interested in next years sales numbers. Is it worth getting rid of a great $55,000 car for a good $60,000 car,(I own a ZL1 and will not downgrade) or wait and hope for a great 2017-18 ground breaking redesign.
I think they may have gone too far with the design. I really like the 69 Camaro/69 Corvette design of the Gen 5. The Gen 6 will probably grow on me over time but I plan on keeping my Gen 5 for a while.

1) Plenty wealthy and it doesn't matter
2) An idiot with no financial responsibility.

Those that actually care about the cost of a 2SS with a few options and a griping about cost aren't going to be moving into a Corvette, especially one with options.
Unfortunately I know a few gents that are too wealthy for their own good. Sure they're not bill gates rich or even Donald Trump rich, but they do have a decent sized home and several vehicles that cost well over 80k, that could get suckered into buying a car with a 30k price tag difference. It's pretty sad really, but hey it's their money and I don't complain because they do let me borrow their nice cars when it's date night. Sure the Camaro is nice and all, but who wouldn't want to show up in a Porche Cayan?

Also, remember the gen 5 was a huge seller, and beat the Mustang for like the first time ever. GM wasn't going to mess with a good thing too much.

IMO biggest improvement overall is not even the powertrain, it's the new interior.
You don't like the 5th but the 6th why it looks just like the 2015 but smaller. They thru some LED's on it put some cheap vents in the hood ugly fin they changed very little now inside very nice way different but outside just looks like anothe refresh like the 2014. To say you didn't like the 5th gen 2010 to 2013 is the best looking camaro ever made that's why sale were great.

They sold more Camaros in 2014 and 2015 than they did in 2009, 2010, and 2013. So technically the refresh was a better success during it's 2 year run. Probably because it had style and some needed tech upgrades.

I am not a huge fan of the vents in the hood; however, if you are going to track it, you need to get the engine cooled. Heat extraction is pretty important.

I am a fan of the camaro brand my issue is why trade in for something that looks close to the same thing I already have it was a refresh not a redesign. i don't have to be a GM kiss ass on here there's thing I don't like about the car and I'm sure when guys get these cars in there hand considering they never even drove one but ordered one they will be bitching about stuff they don't like. They made a track car that 90% of the buyers can careless about and making us pay for it. Once again it's a nice car inside very nice I wish the change would have been that dramatic on the outside to get more people to trade in.

The recession also had a lot to do with that. The earlier years of the Camaro could have been much better.

I live two blocks south of Ten Mile Road in between Mound and Van Dyke. My bank (Chase on Van Dyke) is directly across one of the GM Tech Center's main entrances and I shop at the Meijer's on Mound also directly across from one of the Tech Center's main entrances. When you see a Gen5 in close proximity to a Gen6, you have no doubt you are viewing two Camaros and you have no doubt which is Gen5 and which is Gen6.

No doubt at all even if you are not paying attention.
