Well good question. Per my dealer using vin view. i have never had any eta. Vin view just says pending dispatch an no eta. But per chat an on here originally eta was 6/18 then kept getting pushed back a week an now its 7/18.

The current supply chain situation is definitely somewhat special, but never in my life have I signed off completely on a vehicle that I did not physically observe, making sure it is in a condition I would be able and willing to accept and drive home—this is exactly why.

It's the dealership that coerced you into this conundrum, but come on, didn't you think to wait a second and clarify what happens if you complete all the paperwork and the car doesn't turn up after the "usual" wait time? General Motors was reimbursed for the car, the dealership was reimbursed for the car, so now it's only you who has a vested interest in receiving it, the only thing that motivates the dealer at this point is their integrity.

That said, good call on involving customer service, this is a sucky situation indeed, hope you'll be made whole in the end and you can finally enjoy this amazing car

Your first mistake was taking out a loan for a car that you nor the dealer own (obviously you knew no better). The transport company has Power of Attorney of the car until it is delivered to the dealer. They do this in the event the car is a complete loss in transport, stolen, damaged, etc. That would be a fun conversation with the bank if the car was totaled on the way to the dealership. I had a camaro built in March that just arrived to our dealership, so you may make a few payments before it arrives. May also be hard to negotiate any kind of damage that you find since the dealer has already gotten paid. Once it is delivered on paper only the ordering dealer can locate the car for an ETA in the system, however you can have them setup onstar and download the myChevy app and locate it on there to watch for movement.

That is messed up in my opinion. My dealer did not ask me to pay a deposit, however, I have bought 3 prior cars from them, and nothing will be finalized until the car is on the lot.

i understand where everyone one is coming from with "signing" for a car. with that being said, its a lease. the intent was to perhaps purchase the car after the lease. the whole process at the dealership seemed innocent. put down a deposit to hold it, close the deal once its built, and in a few weeks the car will be here. i didnt see any issues with that. well, as the delays grew longer and longer this whole thing has turned into a shit show.
