Bought my 2017 M6 ZL1 new in February 2017. Just out of warranty, the A/C compressor conked out and I paid for that repair. I had the water pump replaced under warranty. Other than that, no issues. I still have the original clutch @ 95,000 miles and still have the original battery at nine years old plus. The car was manufactured 11/16. I change my own oil every 5,000 miles, and have since new, I've changed the tranny fluid myself, the rear diff fluid. I changed my own brake pads at 82,000 miles and have never turned the rotors...they don't need turning. I've only been to the dealership twice in nine years. This car has exceeded my expectations in every way. I hope it lasts me another twenty years. or more. It's truly my favorite car Ive ever owned. Not because of reliability, but because of the fun factor, the power, the handling, the brakes, the turn-in, its beauty, the comfort of driving it, and of course, rowing through the gears. I'm 64 and never want to drive an automatic. Don't care that they're faster on the track...etc. I feel special every day in this car. Can't imagine that's a common sentiment that owners of other makes/models feel.

I have had my 2023 2SS 1LE 6MT for exactly 3 years to the week! This is the only car I have had for more than 3 years with no urge to get into something new. I feel that this is peak V8 Manual out there for me. In the 3 years I have had this car, I have had it on the track 3 times(wish I could have done more!). Tail of the Dragon 2-4 times a year. Drove it from NC to CA and back again. Took it on Angeles Crest Highway in LA(regardless how you feel about LA, they have amazing canyon roads). I have put down 60,000 miles into my car and every mile has been amazing.
I have a Corsa Exhaust, Headers and e85 with a Tune. The car has been amazingly reliable. I have only recently been having issues with the eLSD misbehaving and I am hoping a retune will help sort it out. I took it to the dealership for recall for the BCM and look at a couple small things. The only 2 things that I have annoyances with now are the eLSD issues which I hopefully can get fixed before warmer weather and a really annoying sound coming from the rear which I am pretty sure is a heat shield or my exhaust rubbing somewhere.

As of today (1/22/26) I’m at 162,346 miles and still pushing hard. No real repairs outside of what I consider general maintenance. Car is ridiculously easy to work on and almost everything can be done in a home garage without a lift. Parts are cheap and anything you can think of exist on a YouTube video. Car is very reliable, even at 10 years old. I actually worry about our newer cars having problems than this. Build thread here that also includes what’s been changed.
