I would go for the lemonade if you can... That oil leak next to the cats is a safety hazard. Car can catch fire or cause an accident if spills on the tires.
With vibration and heat cycles will only get worse...

I'm saying this because they won't find a hairline crack in the casting ever in their lifes. Also if it is in the block you need a new engine.

If you still want to fight it to get it repaired, there are sprays to show cracks in weldings and castings.

Any chance they forgot to put (or didn't put enough) RTV where the rear main seal housing meets the oil pan? That's the only weak spot I can think of since they replaced gaskets.

So what exactly did they do with that huge parts list? Pull the pan and put in a new gasket?

If this is what a dry stain looks like then yes! Do you see much oil leading up to the drain plug? To me it looks like the oil stops at the lowest point of the oil pan which is just below the drain plug.

Looks like they did the rear main seal on the engine, or should I say everything but actually physically changing the seal? Which is probably what they will do next

Yeah looks like they only changed the rear main seal housing gasket, not the rear main seal.

Edit: Maybe they did replace the rear main seal. Looks like it may come already pressed into a new housing -- https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...using-12705665

Yep, also even if they offer to replace the whole engine, you don't want a car assembled at the dealer... I mean I'd rather get the check and get another camaro or negotiate a 2024.

So, yeah, a blurrier picture might help
I would think they would put dye in the oil and then you could shine a light from the bottom and see if this is dripping from topside.

Car back at the dealer again. So i was waiting for parts so they can get the oil leak fix and on the 27 of September going home from work i started hearing knocking noise from the engine. I called the dealership for a appointment for the next day. Drop it off and a week later they told me that i need a new engine. Gm ok it. With the strike going on doesnt look like am getting my car anytime soon. Should i talk to GM about getting a new vehicle or should i go straight to a lemon lawyer.

Sorry about your luck, I’m not sure what your best course of action is?

Wow.
Not exactly sure what's involved with getting to the rear seal, but what are the chances their oil leak "repair" caused serious damage?
I'd like to think that is unlikely, but not sure.
Never had that noise before they worked on it, right?

No but i told them before that the sound from the muffer didnt sound the same like if the valve for the muffler where not opening and the gear shifting wasnt smooth. Right after when they so called fix the oil leak i was on the freeway my car lost power, it like if i put it in neutral but the rpm whould not rev up but still had control of the car so i coast to side of the freeway. Turn everything off and tried to start the car after the third try it start and that when the noise from the muffler sound different.
