Flowmaster is still around and we're to help with all of your exhaust related questions.

As others have stated the answer to "Which exhaust is best for me?" is highly subjective. Everyone's hearing and tastes vary WIDELY so you will get multiple suggestions and combinations. With the popularity of the 5th and 6th generation Camaro the exhaust aftermarket has provided a ton of options.

The Camaro platform can really waken up (both power wise and sound wise) with the secondary catalytic converters removed and you will see it suggested here on more than one occasion. Just a word of warning if the vehicle will be street driven, unfortunately, the smog components must remain intact; this law is a Federal law. If you live in a State that has an emission or smog inspection there's a good chance that you will fail the inspection with said components removed.

With that said, we have our American Thunder Axle-back. This system will have an aggressive exhaust note both in and out of the vehicle. The American Thunder System is manufactured in the USA from 409S stainless steel, allows full control of the NPP system, has full mandrel bent piping and a lifetime, limited warranty. This Axle-back System can be connected to your current OEM exhaust system just after the rear axle.

If you're looking for a simple muffler replacement we offer 16 muffler options, varying from mild to wild.

It can get very confusing when shopping for your next exhaust, but once again we're here to help. Drop us a line at 707-544-4761 and our Support Team can get you all of the info that you need.

pics? That's why I was wondering. In some pics it looks like a nice double walled tip, but on their ZL1 page they show this rolled tip

I got the standard tips. I want to see the CF tips in person to see if I want to upgrade. Some of the pics I've seen they look ok and cheap at the same time plus a lot of them seem to stick out more than I prefer past the rear diffuser. The standard tips are a more flush fit and fit better than what I had on my SS.

I'll forgot that I can't load videos directly from my phone into the forum so I'll have to get them uploaded. Plus, it started to drizzle when on my way home so the videos have a lot of road noise when the windows are down and the rain hitting the windshield when the windows were up washes out a lot of the sound so I'll have to get new clips.

The sound is awesome; deep and throaty. This system seems to be a bit louder and deeper than what was on my SS. I know the system is new and it'll be interesting to see how the sound changes when it "breaks in". Even with the deletion of the secondary cats, there doesn't seem to be as many gurgles and pops on decel as before. No drone and barks like hell when you get into it.

Pics of the tips attached and more to come with video....

Does anyone know if the resonators are cats/emission devices or just for sound devices? In other words are they secondary cats And part of the emission system?

They are not resonators, they are cats. Not needed to pass emissions outside of California (and the other "CARB" states I believe), hence the term "secondary." Technically they are part of your emission control system however, and some dealers could, I suppose, deny a warranty claim if they are removed.

Sexyyyyy. I am a fellow Borla owner. Indeed deep & throaty. I describe it as z06 crossed with a GT 350. Their carbon fiber tips will not be available for a few months for ZL1. I have seen the CF tips and honestly they just look black. You have to get up close to see the pattern.

Flowmaster exhaust

I am old school and cannot stand the Exotic sounding exhausts...so for me that eliminated Borla, Corsa, and pretty much all the other exhausts on the market.
Luckily I waited for Flowmaster to put out their Outlaw line in a NPP option axle back.
One of my buddies got his first and with headers it sounds wonderful...ahhh, Deep Bass!
I didn't spend a day in it, but he says there is no noticeable drone(??), even if there is you can switch to a mellower sound if needed...I prefer to have my brain bleed when just cruising, so I'll probably just pull fuse 51 again until I'm going on a long trip.
My build is waiting on the Coated Kooks headers to arrive, then all the cats will be taken off, and an X and everything else will be installed. Hopefully in another week or so!
I would really love to hear this when it is done...I'm still torn. In the mean time I just pulled fuse 51 to buy some time. I would love to delete cats, but I live in California and I don't think that would go well.

I was looking for a video to try and "hear" the Corsa sport exhaust, but I can't seem to find any.

1) Corsa doesn't make valved exhausts. Never have, and I'm going to go ahead and say, never will.
2) Very little HP to be gained with cat-backs and axle backs.
3) No CEL if secondary cats are deleted properly with an X Pipe (60606 Borla) or an exhaust shop with proper welds. They're unmonitored.
4) If no Drone is your goal, DO NOT use anything other than Corsa. Possibly Borla. I don't trust anybody else.
5) I run the Corsa Axle back, love it.
6) I also run the Borla X Pipe 60606 and love it paired with the Corsa.
7) Anything that's not a complete secondary cat-delete cat-back like my setup, is going to require you to cut the factory exhaust up.

When I installed the s type catback on my car I still had the fuse out from when I had the stock exhaust. It droned pretty bad. Now I did put the fuse back in and I can say with the vavles active again with the borla there is no drone at all. Def recommend having that fuse in for the atak/s type exhaust or else you will get drone with those valves always open.
