Had to replace mine a few months ago, simple install and cheap but dealer told me I should just do it instead of them holding the car a couple days.

we have this stuff where I work. heat moldable felt. It looks nice and is easily formed to whatever shape you want, quickly. I presume that's why they use it. hot rubber hitting it would deform it because of the heat, as well as the velocity, causing it to fail.

I like the flex seal fix. I may be doing that as well if it proves to hold up well.

This fix worked great for the 2019 track season. The flex seal was just enough to harden the felt to deflect the rubber. Worked great. I have some new rear liners that will get the same treatment this winter to replace the originals.

I'd recommend it for track duty.

Update? I just destroyed my liners last weekend at a 1/2 mile race.

My ZLE just encountered the same issue (new car to me). Is Flex seal the answer at this point on a new liner? This is a picture of the drivers rear and the back side of the tire. The front is also getting loose.

I had all the trouble on my SS with ZL1 Aero.

Now with my ZL1 it starts again. Big hole in the fender line on rear driving wheel, luckily it doesnt seem to rub on the harness.
Passenger front wheels also rubs through the liner already.

What I did on my SS few years ago, I will do now again.
Fixing holes with fiberglass and resin. Overall using some resin to stiffen up all the fender liners.
When you soak it with resin, I use something like a small wooden stick between tire and fender liner so it dries and gets solid with more space.
When it completly dried, just spray paint over and you wont notice it at all.

New fender liner will start to rub rub sooner or later as well, don't ask me how I know, lol.

But don't stiffen it too much, in case you want to remove the fender liner one day...
Also may tape off your rims and sidewall of the tires, once you see dried resin there, you wont get rid of it.

Did you apply the flex seal before or after you installed the liners? I have to do all four of them and bought flex seal in a spray can as well as in a paint can to apply with a paint brush.

Any tips or tricks or not to do's?

I have destroyed both of my front liners, the driver's side tire threw a stone into the headlamp assembly and the RotoFab is a magnet for debris coming off the track and roadways.

Looks like we need a better alternative and soon!!
