Excellent point. However, when it ships it will transport from Michigan to Milpitas. Milpitas is south of the fires so I wouldn't think that would have any impact. But maybe so. Or maybe it just normally takes a month of logistics or longer to get cars moved to the left coast.

5 weeks now waiting for shipment. It has been a cluster with GM (not because of the time but because of the sorry excuse for communication to the dealer. They said it was delivered to the dealer on the 22nd of October and advanced the status code directly from 4B00 to 5000 (no 4200 or 4800). Arguments between dealer and DBC ensued with GM acknowledging that it never shipped. Tip of the iceberg on the details... Abridged version....

Dealer has been awesome, DBC and GM have been horrible. Not happy.

That is just plain rotten. I take it there has been no explanation as to why the hold up on delivery. I feel for you man.
The weather is turning here and I will tucking the beast away for the winter. I have been having a blast driving this thing, I have developed permanent smile lines. It's good you are located where you will still have an opportunity to drive it when it does arrive.
Hope you don't mind me keeping tabs on progress, I really do want to see pics when the time comes.
Hang in there, it's worth it

Only that it was bayed. But would not give specific reason to why. Now that the status code is 5000, I have no way of determining through event codes when or if it ships other than when the DBC says it shipped which they have proven continually unreliable and generally uncooperative with the dealer.

Love the product, not the company.

Good times.

Well, car finally arrived yesterday. What a fiasco and mis-information from GM and Jack Cooper. There's certainly an opportunity for those two to figure some things out. Anyway, The car was picked up yesterday and going into my detailer today for Sun-Tek and full ceramic coat. Hopefully I'll have it back for the weekend to put some miles on.

AWESOME
I want to see some pics
What ceramic coating are you going with? I think I am going to have the car done with Modesta before I tuck it away for the season, and then going with some Xpel on the front clip, lower aero side pieces and the rear wing in the spring.

Sun-Tek on the PPF (full front with hood and fenders, rockers, rear quarter, mirrors, a-pillars, roof line). Then the whole car including wheels will get CQuartz Reserve ceramic coat.

Congrats again, that looks great!
The HBM really looks nice with the 1LE package, too much blue without it for me.
After you have it coated and wrapped snap a couple more pics, would love to see more.
I'm excited for you, I have had a blast driving mine.
Are you planning on doing any other engine mods; CAI, Throttle Body, etc.?

I swapped out the rear bumper reflectors for smoked ones. Also swapped the side markers with smoked LED Diode Dynamics markers and put the ZL1 Addons rock guards and lift points on before I sent it over to the detailer. Once back and I get through the break-in period, I'll probably spend another 2,000 miles in stock form so I can get used to the car and get a good benchmark feel along with a bunch of data logs before any engine modes. I have my first round of mods purchased and ready to go as follows:

VMax ported TB
Roto-Fab CAI
ATI Super Damper
15% overdrive crank pulley
Flex Fuel kit
OBDII wide band and AFR gauge

How about you? Any mods in the works?

I'm looking at the Tony Mamo TB, CAI's new CF cold air system, and cat back exhaust are the first items on the list. Also want to get the skip shift to get rid of that annoying first to fourth nonsense. Not sure yet who’s cat back I want to go with, I like the sound of the Borla Atak, but don’t like the exhaust tips. AFE makes a nice system with black tips (kind of like the black theme), but haven’t heard enough sound clips yet.

Then the same damper and pulley you have, and I have just started looking at OBDII products.

I hadn't considered rock guards, but for tracking I think that is a really good idea. Would like to see some pics of yours and how the install went. Did you get the standard or deluxe version?
Are you going to have the car tuned at some point? Any worries about warranty with the EFI kit?

I can’t believe how many hours I have spent looking and learning about all that can be done with these cars.

Went with the deluxe rock guards. When the engine mods happen it will get tuned at the same time (Haven't decided if I'll have Ted tune it or if I will tune it). Not really worried about warranty. I'm ok with the risk of lost warranty. I do all my own work but would potentially be out the part costs if I lost warranty. If you have it tuned, the skip shift can be tuned out. No exhaust changes for me. Keeping this car on the quieter side. My weekend car is an open top, no cat, long tube header, side piped roadster so this one needs to stay on the quieter side especially since it will get driven more frequently.

WOW!
Very nice ride, did you build it? Would love to hear that thing make a pass.
Are you gong to be able to meet emissions with the tune, always assumed Cali is pretty tight, limiting the amount you can bump up with aftermarket. My area has pretty tough emission standards, so can't get too radical.
There are a number of aftermarket exhausts that maintain the NPP valve, will still run pretty quiet, especially if you set it to tour mode. Probably worth 15-20 HP anyways.
Some pics of my daughter's 69. We rebuilt the motor and trans last winter and took it to some local cruise nights this past summer before she headed to school. She has an appreciation for older muscle cars (gets it from her daddy)
