Don't trade your 2SS. You won't lose much over a 30K trade in if you enjoy it for a year or two. By the time you pushed the car to the limits (if you even do) there will be better deals on the 1LE's.

The dealer said $30k... I thought it was low because of all the year end deals so I tried carmax today. Same deal $30k.

MSRP was 47k . Wow talk about depreciation. Good thing I got a leftover 2016.
I'm not sure how most states do but in Tennessee if you trading a car you only pay tax on the trade difference. So your really getting more than $30,000, with the trade difference you might be getting closer to 32,500 or more depending on the tax rate in your area.

However it sounds like your keeping yours and heading to the track..

Keeping it.
To add insult to injury its 8 friggin percent in most parts of California. A $45k car purchase is going to hit you with $3,600 in taxes. (so they can build a bullet train) I don't miss that part of living in California for sure.

In your opinion is that due to the suspension? Or is it possible the wider front stock tire on one 1LE corrects it a bit? I noticed the under-steer as well on my stock 2ss until I put on the 1LE replica wheels with the same size tires as the 1LE on it. Just a thought - but I'm a track noob so I could be completely off the reservation here.... :-)

The wide front tires should correct that, at least partially. I just got the 285's on the front and the steering is noticeably different. I haven't got a chance to push it hard yet so we'll see how the understeer is.

That is indeed why I asked. The difference was noticeable for me as well. Thank you for confirming I'm not the only one that noticed.

I will buy my next car from Ian at Weseloh when the time comes. He's a good guy and will do his best for you. I highly recommend him and he owns an SS.
Thanks buddy. At the end of the day I think you are still in a good position, much better than those of us who got one when they first came out

With all due respect... GM put the eLSD and PTSM and tuned EVERYTHING to work together in concert by tracking the car for almost a year with its ZL1 stablemate to squeeze the best performance out of cars the brand considers track performance platforms...

A year of data driven testing and the full support of GM Performance division or a speed shop....?

I know which one I waited for....

heres a controlled variable test of eLSD as food for further thought...

Hello,

When I read about people that think the loss of a new car value is tragic, my first thought is what would they be willing to pay for one in that same condition compared to a super deal on brand new car? I'll bet it isn't a lot more than a dealer offers. Consider that dealerships are in business to make money. The owners could have just put their cash into a high yield investment and made (insert number). So a dealership has to make a good bit more than that or they don't stay in business. That's just business.

Kindest,

Donner

Doesn't make it any less tragic though. To avoid it, obviously best idea is to get what you want the first time and keep driving it until it's worth peanuts.
