ECU calibration is a hail mary to lower the stock emissions of the vehicle. An air intake would not increase the emissions of a stock gasoline vehicle over the limit. In a diesel, sure it could. Will likely ruin NPP sound too.

GM still hasn't received a CARB cert.

At the factory fest, the engineer responsible for releasing this part confirmed it will come with a tune that was primarily to correct the MAF w/ the new hardware. He said they were still in process of certifying it and that's what was taking so long. I would not expect much of any power gains with it though.

Good info.

Well the other intakes tested thus far aren't making much power either. With that in mind, if I get an intake at all, if rather get a factory warranted one with a MAF calibration than one without those.

Look what I found at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis today. It was in the Chevrolet performance area.

Wow.. This looks like it's a showdown between who can yield the best results.. GM Engineers or the Aftermarket guys. I feel that GM may have the advantage though since there will be a calibration for it. But the same can be said for the aftermarket guys.

Any more information on this, like when it will become available?
Still don't see it on Chevy performance part website. (they took it off some time ago)

Still hasn't passed CARB cert testing. Until they figure out how to do that, the product is not being released.

Wow. That looks just like the CAI intake. I wonder if that's the supplier for GM....
