It sucks that they weren't willing to give you a discount, but maybe rushing into selling the old car and jumping for a 2016 so early into production was not a great idea. There could be other factors that I'm not aware of, such as a small window to sell the old car at a higher price point or a lease that was about to end. I'm sure you didn't decide to ride a bike in the interim just for leisure and exercise.

I also might sound rude, so sorry in advance, but I am really confused when people post on these forums complaining that they just finished payments on their 5th gen and are having financing issues getting behind the wheel of a 6th. If it's that much of a struggle, why are you spending your money on a sports car? Not to judge, but it just doesn't sound like it makes much financial sense. The 5th gen is still an amazing car by all accounts, and if it's been paid off, keep it. Why force yourself to buy something you can't afford and then get hit with a high depreciation rate in the first year? Why not at least wait until 2017 to trade in the 5th gen for a used 6th gen?
There was a small window, I dumped the 5th gen so I didn't get stuck with it to close to the gen 6 release and then be forced to trade it in and not get nearly as much as I did private party.

Money is not the issue, i just didn't want to spend more than I really wanted to on a car. There are things I like about both cars and in the end I would have been happy with either car. Therefore I don't regret buying the scat pack one bit.

Congrats on your purchase I suspect you will love the Scatpack. It may not be the corner carver that the new SS is but the A8 392 will be plenty fast and its better looking IMO . Just bolt up a set of DRs and go hunting.

Pretty crappy of the dealer and as a Camaro owner for the past 8 years I sure will miss my white Chevy but I stumbled upon (and purchased) a 2015 fully loaded scat pack Challenger Wednesday night. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone, especially Becky. Enjoy your cars and happy holidays everyone
Did you have a "written contract" or just verbal? There has to be some legal issues if the agreed price was on paper. Too bad it turned out the way it did.

I went through an ordeal with my C7, as far as wait time, and wanted to walk away from the whole deal twice, but the only thing that kept me in was the "price protection"; other wise I would have done a similar thing as you...walk away, take my money to the competition.
FYI it took 11months to get my C7 and only because I was so pissed waiting, and didn't care about price protection; they ended up swaping orders with another dealership, if not I wouldn't have seen a 2015.

You have a GREAT car enjoy it!

With that Scatt pack I don't think he drives down the street sees a 2016 Camaro and wonders what if no way

You have to remember that the original poster decided to go with the Challenger

Speaking of the original poster I get it what you're saying about the extra money they wanted I mean people make budgets for car and that's what it is maybe they extend that a little bit but then when the dealership comes back with some crap and once you to extend it even more that just doesn't sit right you did exactly what I would have done

I can guarantee you if you go over to any of the lx forum Dodge Charger forum Dodge Challenger forum srt8 forum impost that you got the Challenger instead of the Camaro you get nothing but Bravos no hating on you like here

The only thing with this statement is if he went to those forums and posted he got a 2016 Camaro, he would get hate. Same rings true for him posting he got a challenger on a Camaro forum. Just my 2 cents.

But congrats on your Challenger OP! As long as YOUR happy, that's all that matters. It's your money! Do as you please!

No, he wouldn't. That's what makes the Mopar forums different from Camaro/Mustang crowd.

My pops recently received his 2016 Charger Scat Pack, which I've been tracking for him. Well, I mentioned over on a Mopar forum that I was excited for him and me to both be ordering vehicles at the same time, his Charger, and my Camaro. I received nothing but awesome comments, including comments from those hard-core Mopar fans who freely acknowledge the "better" aspects of the Camaro. More than acknowledge - excitement for me, and praise for the car. That is what I consider a true car lover.

Yet, I post a pic of my dad's new Charger over here (one that you might not even consider as a competitor to Camaro) and the thread quickly devolved into VS thread, talking about how its crap, how CTS-V and ATS-V and Chevy SS were way better. This kind of shenanigans rarely happens on the Mopar side of things.

Exactly that's the way it is over there true car lovers a lot of gear heads and a lot of help when you need help they're not so anti Camaro and Mustang as the Camaro forums in the Mustang forums are and regardless of what anybody on here says those guys over there on those Mopar forums the war is not between the challenger Camaro and Mustang for them the war seems to be with speed at the track.

Except it you mention your SP is a SRT. Then you stir up 30 pages of bickering back and forth lol.

If someone hasn't already commented: It would be great to know the name of the dealership that backed out of your contractual agreement. There should be no Camaro6 people buying from this dealership and I for one would call them and tell them why. I know it's too late for you and you WILL thoroughly enjoy your new car.

I had a dealership try to back out of our contractual agreement once because a rebate ended before I picked the car up. He wanted to add the rebate deduction to the price at pickup. I told him I was arriving with a cashier's check for the full amount originally agreed upon. If the car wasn't delivered, I would rent a car and he would pay all of my expenses when we finished the court case. My attorney (a friend at no cost) had mentioned that in his letter to them. Guess what?...they agreed to give me the car at the original cost...very unhappily.

Heh, my dad went with a SP instead of SRT 6.4 simply because the affiliate pricing wasn't available on the SRT.

Yeah. Challenger sales are a distant 3rd, but people who buy them aren't in it for the competition like Mustang and Camaro buyers are. They are in it because they think the Challenger is a beautiful car and an expression of design that pulls in retro elements more-so than the others. It's the classic American formula of more power to compensate for extra pounds. They don't care what the rest of the world is doing, or if the 6th gen Camaro shed 200 lbs. They don't care about the z/28 or GT350 — they have a 707 HP Hellcat.

I give kudos to this community for sure. I was very close to getting a Challenger myself, but back in 2013, the lineup was a lot less interesting than it is now and the interior was horrible. Even more than the 5th gen Camaro. Today, it'd be a tougher choice for me personally. Somebody at work has a 2015 Scat Pack in black, and I do envy it every time I hear it start up. Even with an aftermarket exhaust, my car doesn't have as much character to the exhaust note. And to the dismay of others on this board, although the 6th gen Camaro sounds better than the 5th, it has still has nothing on the Scat Pack tbh. I've heard both in person.

Yep, buy what you like and do not look back. I like things about all three current 2dr American pony/muscle cars. On the SP, what are the performance #s? I have not keep up with the challenger. My friend had a Hemi Cuda in 70-71. We had some interesting rides in that one.
