I have a 2012 SS that is my DD in Ohio....I choose to DD the Camaro because it is a car I enjoy driving.
I have other Muscle in my Garage for Special occasions....my new 6 Gen ZL1 will be a DD also. I have dedicated snow and ice tires for the Winter and the car drives exceptional...most of our Winters are snow free, you normally only have 10 days that would concern most people. |

I drove my 2013 in the snow a few times and it was just fine. In fact when I was rolling with the NorCal Camaro club we drove ten camaros through the snow and the worst thing that happened was that people that had lowered their cars with splitters were snow plowing which was pretty funny. We all made it out ok. One guy had bald tires and he did fine too.

Simple. FWD sucks. RWD doesn't. There's your reason.
But seriously the car is meant to be used and enjoyed by the owner however they see fit and GM knows there are (more than a few, probably more than half) who drive their cars year round, rain, snow, or shine. Although I probably won't be driving mine in the winter (mainly because I have a second vehicle for winter and other bad weather, which also happens to be a rwd sports car), plenty will. |

Most German cars are RWD. They have the Alps. People drive their high powered BMWs and MBs up and down snow covered Alpine mountain roads all the time.
If you're not comfortable doing it don't. Don't worry about those of us who are comfortable. |

I've driving my 05 GTO in many of winters with Continental Extreme DWS tires. Never got stuck once. Hell, I even have to take off traction control to get it to do a doughnut in an icy parking lot. My Trailblazer drives better in 2wd mode than most people with FWD through the snow. FWD is an enabler for bad drivers.

Yup. These are by no means collector cars (maybe the Z28). I'm not gonna buy a mass produced fun-machine and make it a garage queen. Anti rust protection has come a long way. No reason to store these cars.

When the winter came I was going to get an extra set of wheels and snow tires but I decided to buy a truck instead, for a few reasons:
One, I didn't want to pull of the summer tires considering much of the winter here the streets are dry, even if there is piles of snow on the grass. Two, have you ever tried to haul anything in the Camaro? I can get a couple bags of groceries and a 6-pack of beer in the trunk, and that's about it, and thats fine there. But I don't want to put a 50-lb bag of potting soil in the Camaro lest I grind dirt into the carpet. Or haul fresh roasted hatch green chilies which may leave a delicious but unwanted odor. And don't even think about hauling large appliances, or wood in the Camaro. Three, I like driving thru the mountains, on rocky dirt roads, heading up to fishing holes. Four, as much as I love driving the Camaro, it's a little more work - clutching and shifting. Sometimes I just want to go pick up a burger and get home.

I live in NY and drive a fifth gen. Having a snow/ice setting would be really nice, if it actually helps.
