I think it's 7/17 build date with 14500 miles on it. Oil pressure spiked to max on gauge then fell to 40, pulled into a parking lot and it dropped to 0 and told me to shutdown immediately ... So I did. I'll have it towed on Monday and post updates. Only mods are ported throttle body, mid pipe and tune. Was cruising with my kids so not under load or anything when this happened.

Curious to see how the dealer will handle this considering the car was tuned.

Should still be covered since there is no way the tune caused an oil pump failure.

Be prepared to fight. good luck

If they don't cover it ... It's highly likely it'll be the last gm product I own. Already been burned once with a completely stock 06 GTO several years back.

Not to be a Debbie downer but they are more than likely going to deny it. Tune = loss of engine warranty. they will say that the tune put undue stress on the component and caused the failure even though it is a well documented problem. I hope they don't deny but more than likely they will.

Let us know what they say. I am sure others are interest and would like to know how the dealer will handle this with the tune.
Good Luck

Just wondering ... does anybody know when Katech will have their LT4 wet sump oil pump available ?

That should fix all problems with the factory ZL1 LT4 wet sump oil pump and cost around $950 - $1000

A Zack from Katech commented on ZL1 Exclusive commented "they're coming soon" I replied and also emailed him but no response. I'm having heads/cam done next month and went with most recent OEM PN but if Katech was available would have chosen it.

Shouldn't need aftermarket for something this basic. If GM can't build a high performance oil pump it's all over for them and agree with others I would be done with their products

If the pump really is updated for 2019 let's hope it fixed the problem

One the few reviews of the Camaro oil pump I could find, pretty interesting

Yeah no need for a Katech, its rare to have a failure, and even rarer out of the certain build dates noted here. The bad batch seemed to be all it was.

I am doing the same.. Cam and 2650 first week of Aug and I too am putting the newest part number pump in and praying. Mine was built 1st quarter 2017.
