One thing for sure though is that the GT is no longer a performance "bargain" compared to the SS.

You do realize that most buyers really could care less what the 1LE does, note the very small amount of 1LEs actually sold. Most buyers are looking for a good looking vehicle which offers the comfort and street performance they expect. I suspect this 2018 is going to meet most expectations.

Fair enough. I was thinking that the ZL1 was the first to actually hit the street with it, but it was a delayed released compared to the M6. I'm not actually sure if the Raptor was actually out on the streets first or not.

Got me.

I like what they've done with it, I did a build and price on their website and I built a very similar vehicle to my current Camaro for about the same price, $46,000 or so. It looks like it has most of the features of my Camaro, except the sunroof.

I still prefer the Camaro, but it's nice seeing Ford stepping up the Mustang to compete better.

One had selections for different engine sounds which was cheesy to say the least.
I think Ford uses this too. I read about a noise cancelling mic mounted under the headliner which would explain a lot because no matter how much power I pushed to the woofer I installed the base would roll off weird. Finally just dealt with it until I traded it for my SS. Luckily the stereo in the SS is good. The factor Ford Shaker system I had was garbage.

Same thing with the Performance Pack... although the PP was less intrusive in that I wasn't stuck with the base package to get it. With the 1LE I'm stuck with 1SS options. The 1LE is a good option group but for me it's meaningless as if I wanted a track car I would have spent the extra on the ZL1.

Just pointing out that we know literally nothing at this point on how well it will or won't perform. A lot of people actually want the 1LE. If you don't or I don't that's fine but there are people who want it. If the 1LE was not profitable then they would not be selling it in this generation again. 99.9% of people will never own a GT500 (IF we ever see one). Does it's performance still matter to enthusiasts? Absolutely. I'm not trying to bash the 18 Stang. Just saying that how it performs against all Camaros will be important. 1LE included.

The 1LE vs the PP are not exactly the same. The PP can be had with the Premium GT where as with the 1LE it's a performance package for the 1SS. The PP2 may change this though. The 1LE makes up a small percentage of the overall Camaro sales but sure; it's important because it's performance upgrades with a warranty. In this day and age that can be hard to come by. Probably why we still have not seen the GM CAI that was advertised last year. I think it's a refreshing break to see Ford, GM, and Dodge so close now in performance. However, I think as we get closer to that budget 11 second daily driver we are going to hit a wall in terms of 1/4 performance just out of safety concerns. The obvious next step is to upgrade the cars handling which both GM and Ford seem to be doing nicely.

The 1LE is going to be offered for MY18 2SS cars now. Just later in the year. You can actually add the 1LE suspension package (sans eLSD and other goodies) already. The difference is with Ford you can get the PP on an auto now, which really is just the standard equipment for an SS anyway.

It's out now. There's a thread here somewhere.

The Mustang has done great in terms of getting up to speed. Mustang fan boys used to complain how much the 6th gen Camaro cost, but if they want to compete they will have to pay just as much as the 1SS. if not more lol.

I don't think so much that it will be easier and cheaper. I've modded both and the price and ease were about the same. In the past the 5.0 responded very well with boost. I expect the same in this one.

You can spend as little or as much on both. There are so many options for the same parts for either of the cars. Especially in the bolt on market. For example Texas speed headers vs stainless works headers, how much do you want to spend for basically the same part. Now internal mods is where the Chevy engine is going to be cheaper and easier.

I've been searching for a "Buy one camshaft, get 3 free" deal for awhile.

Until I do, you're right with that statement.
