This has me greatly concerned.

My TCM is pretty customized, and I am not sure I can restore the stock tune file for this. I think I have the stock tune file but not sure if it is in fact the stock tune file. And no I don't trust Chevy dealers either, much less the one by me whom is the largest in the state, can't even do a basic brake job without breaking something on my car.

Will I be able to just reflash my ECM/TCM after the recall to restore my TCM settings? And if I do, will the recall settings break something with my TCM tune such that my transmission can completely fail, and if so who's responsible for it? Me or Chevy?

At this point I am not confident I should do the recall. But, it is a safety issue. And Yes, my car is on both recalls as well.

This is above and beyond the BCM recall

Product Safety Recall

Momentary Wheel Lock-Up

Released: 2025-03-06

So they are NOT in fact fixing anything. Just waiting for the issue to occur. Who is liable for this, me or GM? The issue was a preexisting condition prior to the modification of my vehicle which means the repair work should be covered by GM regardless of the fact my car is modified. Assuming I don't die first. And if they cannot fix the issue then under the lemon law they owe me a new car.

I smell a class action law suit.

I really think I need to call an attorney at this point.
If your car is modified your warranty is garbage, suck it up and deal with it, it is the cost of modifying your car within the warranty period... Their are plenty that do and accept the fact that their warranty (and any subsequent recalls) are not covered, that is the cost of modifying that everyone knows exists... Some people that modify and fall out of warranty and some that do not, it is an individual choice for everyone... No one is right, no one is wrong, everyone needs to make the choice that is right for them!...

Pretty much this. I've got another almost 3 years of powertrain warranty and no immediate plans to go big power, so I'll be one of the guinea pigs if the dealership gets back to me in the morning. Hopefully, I can get some more info from them

If it's a "recall" you're getting fixed no matter your mods.

I could understand this incorrectly, but for the T93s, when you write the tune file to them, you are writing over what's in the TCM already. HPTuners (HPT) does not have all the access GM does, so you're only making changes to the definitions HPT has given access to. When you write to the T93, you have to connect to HPT, and basically, you write over what's on the TCM from their "stock" file database. It would seem to me that this software is not something that is part of their definition set, so it's not something that is going to be altered by us with TCM tunes.

That's what I'm going with for now...

To the BCM thingL I WISH that would be for theft protection! That would be a breath of fresh air!!! Hopefully we get more info on this!

I go away for a weekend to track my car and come back to find that this thread has been totally hijacked?! Could the mods possibly split out the transmission recall info into another thread? It has nothing to do with the recall for which I began this thread.

The BCD "enhancement" isn't going to address braking or other performance issues, I'm pretty sure: those things are controlled in other modules. And for it to be an actual recall, it has to be something significant related to safety or some other important thing - e.g. it wouldn't just be to update the stereo display interface. It could be something like updating the door lock logic or window controls, for example. It seems like improving theft deterrence could be a good guess, given the recent press on this topic. If anybody finds out what it's actually changing, please update here.

Once the weather clears up again I'm going to get mine done. I doubt I'll get any new info, but I was going to phone the dealer to try to get anything out of them, why not. I would prefer to know before getting it done (No good reason, I just wanna know!)

I saw a Reddit or Facebook posting of someone getting this update. Dealer didn't have any additional information about what this is addressing.

I just took my 23 in to get the side skirts from the ground effects package installed. The recall came up when the SA wrote me up so we just added it. As others have said they have no additional information other than what we've seen.
My hope is that it fixes the display issues with the dull colors, but I highly doubt I'll ever get that issue fixed. GM and the radio mfg keeps denying it's a problem.

Got my car back with the BCM update.

I have no clue what the enhancement was. Here’s a number that probably can’t be looked up publicly

Hi quick question, can this recall be avoided for registration? I rather not get it, since my car is tuned. If someone knows, please respond. Car is located in Cali BTW.

They aren't going to come to your house and hold a gun to your head and force you to get it... Don't want it, don't go in for the recall, easy as that...

Just to add, my 24 2SS M6 is listed as well. Car is still in hibernation, will probably look into getting this taken care of after I bring her out.

Would be interested in knowing what's being corrected though.

Has anybody noticed anything "off" after getting the BCM recall completed? I just had it completed this morning (within the last couple hours). It's a 2023 3LT.

So far I've already noticed that when I turn off the car, my ambient lighting turns back to the default blue. Curious if anybody else is having this issue, or if anybody has any recommendations on how to fix it.

Edit: I'm just blind and didn't notice that the match drive mode was checked. It seems it defaults to blue when that is checked and you turn the car off.

If anybody does this; just make sure you go through and reset all your settings to what they were. (Autolock/etc)
