This is what a 2015 GM truck lifter set looks like.

The left is a regular LS7 style lifter. The right is an AFM. The dealer wanted to replace the lifters with the stock components when #7 intake failed. I cannot say I blame the service writer, they have a mechanic who performs this constantly. Most folks do not know what a lifter or AFM is. I said no. Ordered an AFM delete kit from Texas Speed and dealer agreed to install it. It cost a lot more, not parts, but labour. Remove the balancer, new engines use sealer instead of gaskets, remove front differential, etc.

When you educate yourself on AFM you will find no matter what you do, change oil frequently, install an AFM delete device, you are still dealing with a ticking time bomb. It will go bad on you. The lifter spring will fail.
