I switched to Michelin PS4's for my trip down to Florida and for the limited driving I'll do until it warms up in the spring. Overall, I like em but they dont grip as well as the R888R's. One things for certain, they're ultra quiet compared to the Toyos!

It's too bad there isn't a single tire that can provide ample grip for the power these modern machines can crank out, not even for a summer only street setup, without massive compromises (noise, wet traction/hydroplaning). Our cars aren't exactly lightweight either

Realistically, nobody is asking for a tire that works the same between -10 and 90 degrees, rain or shine, but these rubber ponies are closer to zero tricks than to many.

I have the PS4S as the best overall street tire, but even my modest power is hard to put down with them unless conditions are absolutely ideal for traction. Oh, and for the price these command they might as well be laced with gold.

Good review! OP, where in Houston? I'm in League City, and am going to be new to the Camaro community.

The PS4S is the best overall tire, if you desire more dry traction then the Nitto 555R2 is your choice. You give up a little wet weather traction with the Nitto but you gain a lot of dry weather traction.

Will try these new Nittos, they weren't yet available when I bought my PS4S set. Thanks for the tip.
