I had no problems with my jack pads. To put them on I drove up on some 2x4s and screwed them on with the supplied Allen screws. Easy peasy

I don't think installing them is the issue here. Using them appears to be an issue for some. I've installed them on my car but so far only used them on a 4-point lift. Gonna be VERY attentive when it comes to jack time.

I had the adapter first. Now I have the bolt on pads.
The other day I lifted the rear with two floors jacks pumping equally to install my rear rock guards.
Now, the pads are no longer parallel to the flat ground. The two rears are canted over about thirty degrees.
I said F it... I didn't squeeze my head under the car to see if I had bent over the pinch welds.
I'm getting sick of stressing over this S.

UPDATE:

I contacted ZL1addons about my crushed rocker panel and bent pinch weld. Yes, when it slipped out it actually bent my pinch weld as well. I asked if they would send me a complimentary set of 4 bolt on lift pads and they said yes. They shipped the new pads very quickly. When I asked for a tracking number, they sent it to me promptly. I got them in the mail yesterday. They all went on fine except on the left rear where the pinch weld was bent slightly, I had to place the pad forward from that bend, and I actually had to cut off a bit of the black clip that holds the rocker panel in place. Luckily this did not impact the clip mechanism and the lift pad bolted on okay, however the rearmost bolt was screwing in against a slightly bent pinch weld. The pad is in place, and I tested it with my jack and it held just fine and seems to be flat and level. However, at some point I'll need to take it off and actually fix the pinch weld, which I don't think I can do in my garage.

I think they need to solve the problem with the design of the magnetic jack pad. It is not staying on the pinch weld when jacked. When this happens, damage to the pinch weld occurs, and if the jack slips outwards it can crush the rocker panel. I noticed that with the bolt on lift pads, there is much more width to the part that sits up against either side of the weld. There is much more surface area in contact, and thus less chance of rolling off. The magnetic jack pad, however, just has a very thin wall on either side of the weld, and, to my eye, just looks like its going to roll off.

Why not make the magnetic one exactly like the lift pad?

ZL1addons told me via email they they haven't heard of any problems like this happening, yet there are 4 examples in this thread alone, so I presume people just aren't telling them about it. They seem like a good company and many of their products are super nice, so I hope this gets fixed. Might take a few more people emailing them to make it happen though.

What are you guys using for adapters on a 4 point lift? I use a MaxJax 2 post car lift that just has round pads on it, haven't had any issues with smaller cars and the pinch welds, 18 2SS convertible might be a different story from what I'm reading here. I haven't lifted it yet but will be in the Spring.

This makes sense. I have also had same problem with my pinch weld pad with hockey puck (not zl1addons but very similar from Amazon) I did not understand how it happened first but other side worked fine (second time). My jack has been sitting in garage for 6 months without using it. I was almost buy a ZL1addons but wasnt so sure. I will try with current ones again.
