I'm kind of curious if this will be an on going issue enough to report a Recall for all 6 Gen Camaro owner to get the wheel lining replaced. Because I feel as if mine won't hold up very long considering the snow in these harsh Delaware winters, hot summers. Wear and tear from highway rock chips. One user posted on this thread mentioning it may possibly it could be covered under warranty.

"Poor design. Poor Material Choice."

If this set doesn't hold up with some Flex Seal painted on them - I'll get another replacement set and coat them completely with Herculiner BEFORE they are installed. Just hoping to avoid using that stuff with them already installed on the car.
If it happens again I can solve your issue and pick up the car and bring her down to Orlando and it can sit in the garage next to mine collecting dust

LOL.....While it would be great to see you, it may be tough to let my car go to FLA with you!

Get that HBM beauty out of the garage soon!

Going to be in Detroit seeing our good friend Becky anytime soon?? I'm still keeping my eye out for another HPDE event at Daytona since the one got cancelled last December. Would love to add that track and give you a ride!

I love it. It was awesome on my wife's SRT Jeep all around. My GTR and M5 have it on the rear only.

That being said...it needs to be lain over plastic, not just open and the only protection. That's just stupid.

Look under the M5 close to where passengers put their feet. It’s there too. I just looked.

I honestly doubt this will be a common failure. I think this is a result of super sticky race tires and high speeds. A lot of manufacturers use this type of material. BMW uses it on the rear wheel liners on just about all their cars. For noise reduction I’m assuming; and it seems to hold up just fine. Recalls are for safety or emissions related failures. This is neither — a nuisance at worst.

Unfortunately, I have an event here at home the same weekend as CFest...so can't make it... Hoping that someday one of the two events gets moved off that second weekend of July so I can attend!

I'll keep looking for a Daytona event!

Agreed. I think this will only be an issue with sticky track tires, a bit of a "dirty" track, and high speeds. YMMV.

Fixed it.....I hope....

Coated the problem area with Flex Seal this morning.

First pic, the spotlight is on the area that was penetrated first. Highest impact area.

Second pic is after a couple of coats of Flex Seal. Not hard to do, stuff is pretty thick so hangs on the fabric well, just went over it a couple of times. Found out a 2" brush works better than a 4"roller to apply it.

Interesting thing is....both the tech that replaced the liners and I believe that the replacement liners felt a bit thicker and harder than the originals. Maybe they started making them a bit tougher now?

Regardless, I expect this to solve the problem - and - likely is only an issue with tough track duty not DD.

My M5 is lowered on H&R so that may no longer be an option for me LOL

So you think yours was bad look at mine. 2019 zl1 1le. This is the left front liner, and all the rubber that I pulled out of the headlight. Plus there's a piece of rubber in the front housing of the headlight. I do track my car regularly.
Took to the dealer and hope they will warranty it. Also got a ding in the fender now from the underneath side due to no longer augh. Very disappointed GM!

How'd this work out over the summer? Flex seal would appear to be the ticket.......

I have to wonder why the inner liner isn't some molded piece of rubber. I would guess the flannel like crap is a tad lighter than rubber would be, but the cost difference cannot be that significant.

One would think a rubber inner liner would hold up better.
